Better nose than the palate. In the nose some plums, smoke and dried fruits. Palate somehow empty... like the body would have gone from the liquid, light tannins and acidity.

Slightly bitter, racy, tobacco, wood. Maybe it's past prime. Decent, but not worth the 18 I paid on closeout.

Black currant and plum flavors are intense and vibrant, yet the oak is assertive now. With air this gains suppleness and definition, showing a firm, spicy impression on the finish. - WS

Very dark. Dark red and black fuit, tobacco, oak, herb. This is very well concentrated, spice, aromatic, refreshing. Substantial tannin but not obtrusive given the powerful fruit.

A top rate Wine from my $20 average cost charity purchase of 48 random Italians. Decanted for 60 minutes with a nose of red cherry and a touch of savoury cedary smoke. Bitter fruit balance on the tongue with strong tannins and a touch of tar. Needs another couple of years to show at its best and allow the fruit to come to the fore. Medium racy body; some complexity. Very good now and excellent value even at the community …

PnP, really opened up after 90 minutes or so. Old world on the nose with earth, dried leaves, coffee and ripe fruit. Taste of dark coffee, boysenberry, and a little tobacco. Fully integrated tannins with nice mouth feel.

Took a bit to blow off, and then was quite pleasant, with a subtle but full nose. Tannins well integrated and good acid. definitely a nice wine which did very well with a variety of italian-ish dishes.

The wine looks Inky colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Coffee, and Espresso. It tastes like and Almond. The body is Medium/Full. The wine is textured Satin-like. The wine finishes Medium.

This wine is perfect now. Dark in color with a bit of sediment (which I love!!) Aromas of tar and flint. Not too much fruit on the palate however paired this with an Italian Truffled salami and yummy the fruit flavors come forward and earthy flavors are muted. Also paired well with a grilled filet mignon. Enjoy!!

Showed very well. Nose doesn't give much away but this wine shows delicacy without some of the weakness that Tuscans can exibit. Great complexity to the taste with taught fruits showing through. Recommended.

Dark color with mild aromas of cooked veggies. Medium body, round and silky with berryfruit, citrus, pencil lead, and veggies on a dry finish. A good food wine.
