Pax, Buddhas Dharma Chenin Blanc, Mendocino County

Pop and pour, consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear, medium lemon. Nose: Clean, medium intensity, youthful aromas of melon, Meyer lemon, saline, ginger, and acacia flowers. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium+ body, medium intensity, flavors of Meyer lemon, honeydew melon, and ginger with a medium finish. Very good overall, while not exceptional scores well across the spectrum of balance, complexity, intensity, and length. Drinking well currently, drink now or over the next 3 years.

Sour apple, green melon, white pepper and tropical fruit hold firm on the fleshy mid-palate. Agree with others that this comes across as somewhat one dimensional and angular. Decent but not really memorable imo

We had 2 bottles over a couple of days. The wine was well made, but it left me wanting more. Not enough dimension.

Brutally astringent. Fruit on the nose never makes it into the glass. Very one-note. Hopefully it mellows on the second day. UPDATE: It did mellow with additional bottle time. What's revealed is still pretty one-note, though. That's a shame, because the nose is attractive, with nice floral and citrus notes. This is more of a food wine than something you'd want to drink on its own.

Funky, but well made. Great with cheese, charcuterie.

Enjoyable aromas of tropical fruit (blind sniffed marsanne/roussanne of the Rhone), but reductive, which doesn't blow off so well. Any fruit on the nose never appears in the wine itself. Probably a ton of VA and untoward yeast. A very interesting wine but, from my palate, completely undrinkable. This and previous wines made me stop buying wines from this vintner.

Lots of apple and lime rind. Grapefruit. Honeydew melon. Nice acid. Neutral French oak. Excellent

Quite a bit of acidity and underripe citrus.

I don’t know Chenin, so here’s a novice’s reaction. This wine is nice with food but otherwise unpleasant. The acid doesn’t smack you so much as punch you in the face. Aromatics scream bone dry, and to my nose, flat and boring. I’ll give my remaining bottles lots of time.
