Approaching the later days of the drinking window, and needs time to open up, but still drinking well.

Better, in my opinion, than prior scores suggest; this isn't anything groundbreaking and perhaps not even a great value for Chilean cabernet, but at just under $15 it's well made and highly serviceable. More oak on the nose than on the palate, this has a good, medium weight balance to the relatively bright red fruit and a longer, more pleasing finish than most cheap red wine.

January 2017's Featured Wines (San Diego Wine Co.) : N: Toast, berries, pyrazines -- in not particular order P: Med, poss MF, body; Nice entry with oak predominating by mid palate; Long, fairly seamless finish with some firming astringency. A reasonably elegant style which could well improve for 1-2 yrs, then hold for several. 14% ABV 90 pts WS, though I was unable to view that review

Nose: Cassis and green paprika. Mouth: Quite harmonious but also a bit boring. Nice expressive aromas. Somehow also tomato juice comes to mind. However it lacks a bit depth and complexity. The alcohol can be felt too much. Nevertheless a very good wine. This is your typical fruitforward but a bit shallow Cab. from South America. Cab. Sauv. with some Carmenère, Syrah and Malbec. 14.0% alc. The half full bottle after having spent some time in the fridge under vacuum …
