The wine looks inky coloured. Fragrant bouquet of forest floor, coffee, tobacco and dark cherry. It tastes like black cherry, forest floor and coffee. The body is full and round with a long finish. Still a beautiful wine, enjoyed with garlic snails and bouillabaisse.

13% alcohol. Good long dense cork with no wine penetration. Strong reductive smell off the cork. Decanted 90 mn ahead. Darkish colour with no sign of ageing. The nose has good intensity (especially towards the end of the meal), but the fruit aromas are a bit blurred by a remnant of reduction and an earthy component. No oak in evidence. The mouth is pretty strict, with more acidity than what is called for by the rather fruit-poor flavours. One can …

13% alcohol. Good long dense cork with absolutely no wine penetration. Decanted for an hour. Dark colour with some sign of evolution at the rim. Very good nose with liquorice and some subdued raisiny character. The mouth is probably better again, with a winning juicy character and excellent acidity. The oak is fully absorbed. A youthful bracing wine which is drinking well now; there is room for further improvement with the development of tertiary notes. Went well with roasted pork. …

Dark purple colour; dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, earthy nose; medium bodied, savoury, earthy, dark fruit and chocolate palate, great length. Beautiful wine, still drinking really well.

very good classic pepper and provencal herb on the nose with matching palate but with cherry fruit and a grapefruit like acidity that cleanses at the end and begs for another sip perfect weeknight wine.

For vintage this is actually quite good. There was mild funk and a leafy greenness on the nose that turned more like mint or garrique. On the palate cherries and then pepper. For a syrah it seems like ChNP more than a northern rhone but I do feel it speaks of the region and is pretty satisfying…had with grilled salmon and veg on a cold night and it went very well

Very dark purple; Stinky, meaty, Black Currant, fades quickly; pleasant tannins but a strong accent on the acid, slight bitterness; not very convincing, to much acid for me.

This one had some initial funk that blew off very quickly after some air. Full bodied and still tannic enough to warrant running it through the Vinturi. Wide range of flavors. Very complex with Woody, mushroom and earth on the nose. Black fruit and spice on the palate. Long finish shows all the flavors combined with tar. Really interesting! Drink now-2018.

On the nose: roast beef, licorice, chocolate-covered berries, black olive, bouquet garni, wood, and smoke. Medium-bodied on entry with notes of crunchy berry, cola, and herbs. Finish is a little drying and sullen. Fine sediment at the bottom of the bottle adds to the bitterness. I would make sure to decant that off. The wine should hold for another few years.

Seems to have come out of its shell now, very full and round. Time to drink it if you still have any (I don't).

Dark red in color. Reticent on the nose. Flavors of dark currant, meat and just a bit of pepper. A bit tart tasting in the mid palate and a bit short on the finish. Ok, but not more.

Reflects the cooler vintage of 2008. Quite peppery nose and palate. Enjoyable syrah that reflects the region.

Popped and poured, not easily since the cork wanted to go into the bottle rather than come out. Deep dark intense northern Rhone with good fruit and a bit of funky brett, great with a lamb tajine but not a stellar experience. Finished the next day with pasta and roasted brussels sprouts, which muted the funk and brought out some sweetness with the black fruit. More charming than yesterday, not bad for an unlucky vintage.

Il lui faut un minimun de 2 heures en carafe pour se dévoiler. Beau fruit, poivre blanc et cuir. En bouche bel équilibre entre l'acidité, le fruit et les tannins savoureux.

Decidedly less witbier-like than the previous tasting. Nose shows some age, is a little rustic, old charry wood, but probably smells older than what it is. Settled palate that again looks secondary and older than 8yrs. Some white spice tanginess but not much obvious red and plum fruits; I guess this speaks honestly of the terrior. Drink over the next 12 months for my tastes.

Very nicely aged. On the nose smoke, bay leaf, tobacco and earth. Savory on the palate with more tobacco, smoke, iodine and dark fruits with peppery finish and moderate tannins. Really nicely integrate on day one, but fell apart on day 2... (first night score 89+).

The tannin is brutal. Great fruit and pepper on palate with leather and earth but too much. Cellar Tracker community puts the window at this at 2012. I think I made a mistake opening this.

13.5% alcohol says the label. Old-worldish, slightly rustic nose of dark fruit, dusty red fruit. Dark, leathery, licorice flavors wrap around plum fruit. Finishes with some pronounced tannins that really persist on the back end. Not sure it's the right wine on a hot, humid night, but it's a nice buy for a S-J syrah. Has some upside IMO.

Dark and dank upon opening. Slowly reveals dense fruit, tangy cherry, some toast notes. Persistent, nice with food. Good, not great.

Striking nose; I might have picked as a coriander and spice laden Belgian witbier. The tangy fruit aromas are very, very unique. Palate is similarly impressive with pepper, dark cherry and nice touches of charry oak. Just like a 5yr old Craiglee to taste.
