Drew Family, Pinot Noir Mid Elevation, Mendocino Ridge

My first Mid Elevation, and it's a beauty. Consumed over three nights. It's a balanced, smooth, medium-weight wine with good structure and nice aromatic and flavor complexity. Excellent QPR.

Popped and poured. Lots of black cherry cough drop, raspberry, and some dusty soil. Fruit-forward black cherry in the mouth with just enough minerality to keep things in balance. Deepened with air. Medium weight, medium finish. Not a PN to geek out on as it lacks complexity and nuance but solid for its price point. Drink now or short term hold.

PnP. Really nice Pinot, and good QPR at $29.

No formal notes. Pretty good stuff and good value for the $$. Fruit driven, fresh, with a good level of acidity. Improved by day 2 after opening.

So this is good. Very pale ruby color. Aromatic nose of fresh raspberries, wet rocks and minerals, and hints of earthy potting soil. The palate is less minerally, with a mix of earth and red fruit. This has a remarkable savory persistence for a cool climate Pinot. Textured and long, intense on the finish.

Good QPR; classic cooler climate Pinot; medium color and body; nose is fruit-forward; taste has a higher acid pitch and flavor is slightly muted. Finish is tart and falls off quickly

Nice color nose and initial fruit but the finish just dies and leaves you wanting a lot more. It’s also surprisingly tanic and acidic.

A nice pinot with an herbal edge. Could improve 3-5yrs more of cellaring to bring out some more secondary and tertiary flavors. Very well made.

Too good to hold as long as we should have, this complex, almost audacious pinot smells and tastes like summer and twirls with precision like it's at the finest ball. 2021-2026
