Francesco Rinaldi e Figli Barolo Le Brunate

Stunning! Beautiful from beginning to end. Firm tannins at first gave way with some juicy meat on the palate and it fleshed out over an hour or so. Black and red currant fruit, black cherry. Usual delicate floral and dark tones. It seemed perfectly balanced and poised for a longer rest if we had let it.

Man am I bummed! This showed up stinking of VA that never blew off. I was looking forward to this wine as much as any btl tonight but unfortunately it sucked! Thanks anyway Leo for bringing.

Traditional style. Hard. Rustic like Piedmont. Sober. Balanced. Gastronomic acidity. Wine of long lifetime. In summary: wonderful. Cheers for diversity.

A traditioanl wine; chewy, still quite tannic, showing a hint of fruit in the finish. Need another 5 yrs or more to come together; not certain if the fruit is strong enough to shine in the end. B

One of may Barolo's samples at an IWFS Truffle/Barlol Dinner at Bottega...quite an evening. This showed well for an old style classic Barola..lots of tannin, will peak in another 10 years so be patient. Wonderful presence, deep fruit with long finish..wonderful wine behind all that tannin

Offering up superb aromatics of wild raspberry and light tobacco edged with nuances of smoke and seashell this is lovely on the nose and the big, sweetly fruited almost jammy fruit in the mouth is a bit surprising coming from F. Rinaldi whose wines can be very difficult in their youth. Really fresh and crisp feeling with a deep, dense core this offers up mineral, menthol and tobacco notes on the long finish.
