Pleasant barolo, bought this in 2021 at 25 euro, was not expecting too much but lovely barolo.

Enjoyed this bottle. Much lighter than expected. Color had a hint of orange that led me to concern that it was spoiled, but no. Flavor was slightly delayed on the palate, and then brought a sharp dry pucker flavor that was very pleasant. Good bottle, but a little pricey at $50.

Intense nose of dried flowers, leather and some poached red fruit. In the mouth, medium bodied with dusty tannins, a slight savoury flavour. Good length. This was really quite good.

Dense red cherry and red rose. The most dense, intense, very taught. Baking spices. Tannic. Plus 6 days. Much more fruit than the 2016. Tannic. Much bigger and denser than the 2018. Darker fuller tannic version of the 2018. Raw wine. Very tense. 95. Plus 7 days. Concentrated dense, tannic, dense red and purple fruit.

Enomatic madness (Enoteca Regionale del Barolo) : Deep and weighty on the nose: it's got a kind of Master of Puppets scooped mids thing going on: deep, chunky but articulate notes of dark cherry and earth with perfumed trebly top notes providing cut and symmetry. Super grippy, with a wall of rounded tannins on the palate: it'll need a good amount of time to fill out and soften. Here concludes my most laboured analogy of 2023.

Already approachable, it has balance and site character - cinnamon, dried roses, cherries, dusty road. I like this a lot and will of course improve. 92+

Retail $50. 100% Nebbiolo. As with most Barolos, this is on the light side in the glass with subtle fruit (black cherry), black pepper, and a bit of spice. The palate is also on the lighter side, but there is a zingy acidity and hints of tobacco, black licorice. As I said, this is on the light side, but it still has those defining characteristics that make Barolo one of the more coveted wines in Italy. www.thedrunkencyclist.com

Typical color with some mature leather on the nose. Flavors of upfront fruit and hints of roses. Developed tannins still young. Hints of floral notes as time passed in the glass. Very enjoyable now but needs some time to come into its own.

Wow, here's a wine that really stands out. Tasted as part of a 15-wine lineup in Castiglione Falletto, this was the only one I asked to taste a second time - about five minutes before I was set to leave, I again asked to taste it, this wine being that kind of wine, the kind that really tugs at the soul. An excellent, traditional expression of site and variety, this is medium>full-bodied, with perfect lift and graceful delineation. Med>Long finish, …
