Just to prove how wrong one can be, the final bottle was very good, smooth dark spicy, but this long for a wine to come round at this level is for me a waste of time and money, after all no one can say when it will actually mature, or not, and you open many bottles trying to find out, very expensive way of trying to find out the end product.

wow, that's good stuff. big chalky tannins supporting a nicely meaty, well developed wine. no idea where it will go from here, but it's great now after 15 mins of air.

What AAJDER wrote. Gobs of gorgeous fruit and well-balanced. In a sweet spot, but has plenty of time.

This has always showed ok, with good richness, but lacks verve, definition. Not much on the nose, decent body, some non-distinctive dark blueberry fruit, kind of brooding a little. But seems it's never going to be that generous. Third day day a little tired but softer with a little sourness. Home with K-BBQ. This followed a '05 Chapoutier Mordoree Cote Rotie.

Not very expressive on the nose, but balanced and well structured with good fruit. Flavors not very focused.

Great color. The nose shows fragrant aromas of olives, spices, dark fruits, smoky oak, minerals, flowers and a bit of earth. This is full bodied on the palate with excellent concentration and very good class. The fairly long finish features integrated tannins and a mineral element.

The second bottle, both purchased at the winery, as before not exciting and to be honest I would not buy again, the tasting at the winery was not an indication of what was in the purchased bottles! If it hasn't come round by now then it probably never will or I will be dead by then if it does!

Round and generous but acid minus, and lacks focus on flavors.

One thing is obvious, northern Rhone performed exceptionally well in 2015. This edition of the Terre Brulées will require at least another 5 years if not a decade of patience to tame some of the tannins. Opaque red/purple in colour, notes of black berries, tar, smoke, white pepper emerge from this monster. The finish lasts over a minute. Nicely balanced, this monster will hold a couple of decades easily as it is only starting to emerge form its infancy stage. …

right in the expected wheelhouse, with fig and blackberry, countered by olive and herb notes...smoky and dense on the nose.

What a difference after 3 years! Last time it was completely closed and dead. It has now come to life, full of blackberry and blueberry fruit, black pepper, maybe a hint of cinnamon, finishing with soft tannins and a beautiful fuzzy, velvety texture. All of this after popping and pouring.

As others have said, this is a bit bland, dark spicy but still tannic and will it ever improve? given a decent two hour plus decant and left third of a bottle for following day it simply deteriorated, still have one bottle but not convinced it will be better however long I keep it.

Decanted for an hour before serving. Spiced and meaty with so much black and blue berries with black pepper and intense concentration. Clearly still tannic and backward, but already showing its charm. Good now, better from 2025-2045, 90-91+ point potential.

Back to your Roots (Baeza & Rufete); 3/18/2022-3/20/2022 (Alicante - España) : Newly bottle. Smoked plums on Christmas cake. Good fruity intensity on the palate with acidity and a decent finish. More elegant than rustic. Botella nueva. Ahumado de ciruelas sobre pastel navideño. Buena intensidad frutal al paladar con acidez y un decente final. Más elegante que rústico.

OK, drank out of really sad glasses at the restaurant, mugs really, but nonetheless, this is very plain, and seems like it never really opened up. I've had several bottles and it's just a very bland vintage and bottling. Too soft, lacks tension, lacks fruit, nothing wrong with it but just sort of red-wine-ish. To be fair, had a very subtle white pepper note in the finish, lots of minerality, very low black and blue fruit, moderate everything else. Chifa.

Decidedly linear and a bit stubborn, this is a 2015 Cornas that is going to need some time to find its groove and decide if and when it feels like expanding and deepening its flavors as some point. There is certainly promise here, and though it rides high with puckering acidity and up-front funk, it too seems to carry a notable degree of stuffing for its class that may bud sometime after 2026+. For now, one is met with spun-up …

My greatest day of wine (over)consumption. Ever. (Aaron and Tiffany's pad) : Syrah contribution #2. On the nose and palate, powerful notes of sweet blueberries, smoke, dark florals, intense black pepper, rocky minerality, dry earth, leather, oak with charcoal on the background giving welcome contrast and cut. Deep violet, medium+ bodied, medium legs. Medium++ tannins and acidity, no heat. VG complexity, persistence and intensity. On the eve of our tasting, csimm humorously remarked, "Wouldn't it be something if a $40 …

Earthy nose with rawhide, dark fruit, and peppery notes of cooked beef. Dry dark cherry and black plum with piles of pepper layers flowing into rocks, minerals, and long chewy tannins, adding oak on the finish.

This really didn't have much of a nose, sort of flat, very little lift; 2015 was not good for this wine, a big too rich, broad, lacking in fruit with mostly moderate earth notes and some subtle blackberry. Seems a bit dried out and neutral tasting. Puzzled by this one. W/S&L fam Korean grill on patio

Amazing nose of leather and sweet spice - mesmerising. But on the palate lacked acidity and was quite volatile - one moment it was 94 points and then 87 the next sip. Definitely drink up - a pleasure to taste 20 y o Rhone though.

Served directly from the cellar ie too cold. When opening up showing nice still youthful fruit of dark berries, touch of brett and the expected pepper only showing in the aftertaste. Tannins still chewy. My only bottle but this will drink well another few years.
