Even better a year later. Had to decant as the cork broke but this is simply outstanding.

With Meredith and Valerie on a snowy night in New Hope, Valerie made some turkey chili. Splash decant, drank over an hour. Garnet/purple color, cloudy, thinning at the edge. Plum, red berries, vanilla on the nose. Tart blackberry, cassis, pepper, tobacco, leather. Fruit forward, still fresh and expressive. Tannins resolved. Medium body and finish. In a great spot now. Best guess is this will drink at this level for a while but not likely to improve. Nice showing, would drink …

Fruit forward. Yet elegant and balanced. A great expression of Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon. Good acidity, semi-integrated tannins, lots of cherries and black currants, some forest floor notes and a hint of leather. Long ending with some black pepper and a hint of vanilla. So good, hedonistic, and modern in style. Did not disappoint. Drink now - but this will definitely develop further in the next 3-4 years.

21 Grams Vertical: 2005-2016. (Home, Portland OR) : 21 Grams Vertical: 2005-2016. Another crumbled cork which required straining. One of the top bottles of the night, this was a stellar wine. Still quite fresh and delicious all the way through the bottle. Flavors of cassis, black cherry, saddle leather and violets. Hints of oak and vanilla as well. This is definitely at peak but may hold here for a bit. Outstanding wine!

Part of a vertical tasting that included 2005 through 2010, very disappointing for the ageability of all years. No flaws in this bottle but it is completely done. Opened the bottle and was hopeful from a delightful floral nose, unfortunately it was gone in about a minute. Some hints of dried fruits but not much really going on with this wine. Should have drank this 2 years (or more) ago.

- Purple color - raisiny, dull overall, has subdued multi-layer complexity with a corresponding long finish but this is the best that can be said. If the wineries price indicates their aspirations then this has to be labeled as a failed effort.

Enjoyed this bottle with friends and some Prime New York Strips. Quite tasty but agree with DRX, the fruit is fading and it is starting to take on port like qualities. It was very good but I would not hold much longer.

- Crimsom color - First the good news. Tasting very nice right now. Nice, earthy nose; dark fruit and stone fruit on the mouth; good, lingering finish. Now the bad news. Substantial color shift. Developing significant flavors of plums and raisins. This is now a need to drink wine, bought it with the intention of cellaring for at least another decade but not now. Will be drinking mine within the next year. Not an isolated bottle, drank another last night …

Enjoyed at Saffron during Cayuse weekend. Perfect ending to a splendid getaway. The tannins are well integrated at this point yet the fruit is still prominent. I really enjoy the high end walla walla cabs over their red mountain counterparts, especially those with less oak. Can certainly taste the gramercy influence. Bravo!!!

Great floral boutique Dark fruit, blueberries, pepper, tobacco, smokey oak. Well integrated tannins. Well balanced. Velvet mouth feel. Lacks length on the finish.

Slow ox'd a couple of hours. Purple with some maroon around the edge. Cassis and plum nose with a bit of (ugh) vanilla. A much more pleasant palate than I expected. Black and red fruit get out in front of the vanilla/ sweet components. The fruit is quite pure which keeps this in the upper 80's, and firm tannins show off some structure which makes up in part for the lack of acidity. A hint of VA drags it down …

Good wine, a little bit disjointed, does not live up to expectations.

Nose of olive, game, deep dark fruit. Palate still tight after being opened the previous day, with lots of grip, game, and dark fruit, also a nice mushroom component. Great bottle, but at 125 per a little steep for my taste.
