brilliant! Reductive Nose with flint, slight popcorn, salted butter, some lemon. Palate medium acidity, good length and grip. one of the best labet bottles I had so far!

il miglior fabbro (södermalm) : So glad I waited another 9 years to drink this after opening the first bottle! This is probably already past peak but still on a very high plateau. Open nose, nutty, slightly oxidized feel but in a nice way (this is Chardonnay in the ouillé style, i.e. topped up in a style that is not intentionally oxidized - but as often with these Jura wines they have a little bit of their sous voile cousins). …

It's always amazing to see how these wines carry their high alcohol. 14.5% and not in the slightest way disturbing. Lemon confit, herbs, cream, peach, moderately long finish. Started out a bit reductive, but opened up quickly. Always a pleasure to taste.

Fourrier dinner : Much more ready than the bottle last year. Some reduction on the nose at first but palate was expressive with ripe citrus fruit and electric acidity. A wine with a lot going on (in a good way), superb intensity and length. Had the wrong 2020 cork (back label confirmed it to be 2018).

Le Bon Funk, Singapore. Slightly cloudy. Opens up quite flinty on the nose. Not unusual for a Chard these days irrespective of where it is made. What makes this stands out is the brand of acidity this carries. It is interwoven in the wine fabric and while acidity feels high with all the benefits for freshness and savouriness this stops well short of feeling screeching. While a Chardonnay this shares a few traits with the best Chenins in terms of palate …

A bit natural, intense lemony fruit and flowers, white peach, high acidity, 14.5% alcohol but not standing out, pure Jura power.

Wonderful showing here. I was a bit worried it would be over the hill, but a perfect cork and cool storage has turned this wine into something else. Fruit (apple, lime, other citrus fruits and maybe even a tad cantaloupe) is still very much alive and has a sweetness to it that I guess has to do with late harvest. Acidity has always been sky high in this wine, but now it is perfectly intertwined with everything else going on …

2018 label with 2020 cork! This had bright acidity, a lovely natural touch, good fruit, but was a bit shorter on the finish than I would have expected. Still a great wine.

Perfectly ‘jurassien’ with notes of wet stones, milk, yogurt, salt, fresh sea breeze, a certain brothiness, oaky, flinty, gunpowder, a slight voile aroma even if it's not a voile-aged wine (maybe a barrel that used to contain other wines), a touch of plastic and ‘cleaning product’ in a positive sense; sadly, at moments, a little ‘souris’ although not extremely bothersome; with more air, the bottle starts to show some overripe fruits, a very slight burned caramel. An enjoyable bottle. We …

Clearly way too young but wanted to do a side-by-side with the Saint Pierre after a friend said she hasn't tasted Labet before. Crystalline, zingy citrus fruit, but the acidity on this was enamel-stripping. Clearly a top quality wine, better than the 2019 Chalasse I tasted in France two weeks ago, but so taut and punishing at the moment.

A very intense nose. Redolent with hazelnuts, green apple and lemon curd. More acidic and mineral-driven than the St Pierre chard. Really good but a teeny brash, just feels like it needs to mellow out a bit.

Chardonnay from natural farming, aged about 24 months in barrels of 650 l and 24 months in stainless steel, bottled without any additives 19.08.2022, 14.5% vol. Restaurant Lokal, Biel. PnP. Needs air and gets better with every minute. On the nose apples and a touch of exotic fruits that get replaced by citrous notes at the end of the course, some yeasty notes, medium to high acidity, dry, good depth and long finish with a hint of lemon zest. The …

wow! I am not really used to these crazy wines from Jura, I would even say had no good experience with orange up to now (maybe Stroebel Champagne). But here comes the game changer. bold nose, chard, flinty, complex, powerful, with some air in the decanter getting better and better. highly appreciated together with perfect food pairing at restaurant Uva/Cannes.

Quite similar to the En Billat I had earlier in the week. A bit funky with orange peel, some stone fruit, intensely flinty, lemon, really intense wine. I would let this rest for a few years.

Needs a bit of air, then it really arrives. Vibrant, turning more creamy, lemonzest, confit d'orange, chalk. Splendid acidity and great balance for the vintage. Too young, still. #Locale21

À Paris. Bien tendu et typique de Labet avec un côté nature maîtrisé. Belle tension jurassienne, sur le fruit blanc et l’amertume. C’est encore très jeu en l’état, excellent.

Hmm, not as enamoured as recent tasters. My bottle seemed a bit overly oxidized, the lemon notes ending in a bitter orange and it was a bit wooly, with beeswax and a dirty honey note, and the apple notes were of the bruised kind. Maybe a bad cork and some premox going on. But there’s also a side to it that I like, a Labet signature of conserved lemon and mint so it’s not like I didn’t finish the bottle, …

This bottle was something else. Perfectly matured and for my taste this is it, I can't imagine it getting significantly better than this. I'm officially calling this at peak level, now and a few years onward. Wonderful lemon notes, waxy mouthfeel and appearance, smoky minerality, almonds, rocks. The acidity is superbly balanced, still lots of energy and drive but also with smoothness and depth. Long aftertaste. Last bottle, pretty much a masterpiece in my book.

Flavour palette feels quite Burgundian (elegant oak, moderately ripe fruit), but there's something quite Jura about the feeling - salty and almost spritzig. Great stuff, drinking wonderfully right now and probably for years to come.

Pretty much consistent with previous note. Surprisingly approachable after an hour in open bottle. A touch of ox lures in the background together with that lovely smokey minerality. A great wine already although it's pretty tightly screwed, there's definitely more to come from this. Very high quality.

This was a sample from a 20cl-bottle stored in perfect temperature for three days, therefore no rating. Lovely color, deep yellow gold. Pure nose of electric lemon notes, chives, grass, fractions of tropical fruit and lime peel. On the palate the acidity still runs the show, lemon sorbet and lime, green juicy Granny Smith-apples and grass in the aftertaste. Evident quality, astonishing energy after three days, great future ahead. Because this is very very young and deserves to rest for …

Green, yeasty and very spritzy, just put the cork back and will wait a day to judge this properly. Day three, this is finally drinkable, still with emphasis on green aromas (verbena toothpaste, grapefruit seeds, Granny Smith Apple peels) but the body is quite fleshed out and the acidity not overbearing plus the effervescence is all gone. Not really my cup of tea but wait five years and this might be really good.
