Le Kid d'Arsac, Margaux

I needed a glass of wine tonight and since it’s Wednesday and I should not drink, I tried another bottle of this wine that I found not so good the first time I tried it. Good surprise: lovely raspberry and currant with milk chocolate flavors. A wine better in its youth I guess. Very enjoyable. Wife: 88-89.

Some fruits: mostly cassis and boysenberry. A little tobacco and flower (violet ? lavender ?). Not much concentration or tannin. The finish is not short but a little too acidic. I would have it by the glass for lunch and would be ok with it but it’s not a bottle I would buy again .

Great longevity over several days with vacuum seal. Ripe black fruits and soft oak on nose. Dry, rounded acidity, integrated tannins, palate follows through. Medium body, very good balance, medium finish. Very good QPR.

Day 1 - Nose - fresh blackberry, rose hip, red hawthorn, dried cranberry, autumn leaves, and exotic red flowers - a lot more red/floral spectrum than typical cab. Palate - medium+ ripe tannin and medium+ acidity are wrapped in waxy thick texture like starch syrup. Soft and round as it melts in mouth - excellent texture. Medium+ finish, more substance in mouth than back nose. Not oaky, clean and saline, rather simple but it gets more and more delicious every …
