Really lifted after 4 hrs in decanter. Quite muted on nose but smooth and evolved on palate although low intensity. Holds for a couple of years.

Let it air for 10 hours before drinking and it opened up nicely. Alot of dark fruit and balanced tannines

Opened and decanted 24 hours before dipping into this, the tannins are ultra grippy without a lot of air time or several more years of cellar time. Cedar, sandalwood and blackberry are standouts in both the nose and the palate. The mouthfeel is fairly polished with a longer finish.

Very deep red, almost opaque, with red brim. Generous nose with dark fruit, wood and notes of plums, cassis, sandal wood and coffee. Mouth is generous, fruity, with well integrated tannins, good acidity and notes of plums, cassis, coffee and sandal wood. Good Saint-Émilion, actually still quite young. This will drink well for ten more years.

Blind tasting of Grand Cercle wines 2011 vintage: Part II (Château Bellefont-Belcier) : Quite nice jammy strawberry fruit on the nose here. The palate is tight enough, with somewhat hard tannin. Finish is medium.

At Cafe Rouge, Centerparcs Sherwood Forest. £18 off the list. No formal note but this was a good honest Bordeaux, and in fact a little better than that with ripe, plummy dark fruit, some welcome earthy complexity, quite full bodied but with good acidity and some welcome tannic grip on the good length finish. Very good.
