Icons of piemonte; Barolo, Barbaresco & Friends (The Collective, The Rocks) : Meaty, concentrated, yeast extract, touch of Bovril, a little savoury fruit behind this in the red hued space, smidge of pot pourri. Medium plus intensity acidity , silky grip persists super long, fruit is sitting beneath this tannic veneer. Long, slight alcohol warmth on the finish. Hmm.

Albino Rocca New Releases : Spice and incense on the nose along with some orange peel, plum and cherry. Tannins are fine and control the palate, the fruit flavour is still allowed to express itself with a sweet red core. Will be bottled as Riserva from 2021.

Woody grippy tannins, dry out the palate, sucking at he tongue, acidity lends a little sharpness. Fruit …
