The wine is now showing off nicely. Integration is good and the matured black and blue berries are showing more body in the wine. finish is still long with fruit and tannin. THe wine has at least 5 more years of good drinking and probably andther 7-10

Needs a little time to open up. After an hour or two the balance improves and fruit opens up. Medium acid and tannins with the earthy medium fruit and spice. Don’t hold any more back.

PnP hints of Bordeaux earthiness minus fruit after 11 years. Just right for chicken or salmon.

Dark red color. On nose, red currants, tobacco, dark cherry. On palate, medium body, medium acidity, integrated tannins and very long finish. Similar to nose + sweet cherry, plum. This has aged beautifully. 92++ Definite re-buy. Paired great with seared Tuna steaks and short ribs.

Some of my prior comments on this wine have said that my experience has been up and down, with no trend. The downs were consistent with the price point. The ups produced an experience that outperformed the price point. This bottle, my last, well outperformed the price point. I guess I drank it too quickly.

One bottle left. My experience with this wine has been up and down....with no trend. Some bottles were very good and outperformed the price point. This was one of those bottles. Some other bottles were a little disappointing.....perhaps not in relation to the price......but disappointing in light of the really good experiences. Sometimes wine can be a real mystery.

Decanted for 1 hour before grilled steak dinner. Dark black/red color. On nose, black cherry, red currants, strawberry and menthol. Palate similar. Medium+ body, medium acidity, low tannins and long finish. 91+/- Bordeaux drinkers would enjoy.

Similar to prior note. Nose is flat and fruit is fading. Finish on the shorter side. Not sure if this can go til 2027. I’ll be drinking much sooner.

Light to medium weight, Tart red fruits dominate. Some pepper and herbs make this interesting but nothing to indicate a Napa blend. Not sure it will get any better from here so 2027 seems a stretch. I will drink my last two bottles soon.

I have been disappointed in this wine, except for two bottles along the way. It is not an expensive wine, but my experience with Clos du Val wines have been that they usually out perform their price point. This has not been the case with this one. Also, it is showing signs of tiring. I would be a drinker.

Flavorful with fruits but still on the thinner side. Tannins are smooth enough to drink now.

This is a medium bodied red wine that has potential to age a bit more. The nose is dominated by mild red currents, but nothing else is really overwhelming. I would call it a everyday weekday quaffer. On the palate you get some black pepper, Oriental spice and vegetal overtones. I tasted better from Clos du Val, but this is a decent offering.

This medium bodied wine has big sweet red fruits that dominate the front; the black fruits are there nicely in the background. Smmoth and sweet this is a nice wine but I do expect more from the wine. it feels sweet with tasty fruit but it doesn't have a big close. I got it for $27 and there a many bigger, fuller and more complex Cabs for that price. I guess it seemed a bit delicate to me for a …

Very light, decent acidity but not much power or finish which I would have expected for the price point.

Mid-dark garnet (lightening up); floral, peppery, herbaceous nose, a little more evolved than previously; light-mid body; balanced smooth finish. Easy-drinking food wine.

Enticing, expressive, complex and developing aromatics of ripe black and red berries, cherries and plum, cigar box, dark chocolate, shoe leather, baking spice, and moist loamy earth mixed with cedar mulch. A rich flavor profile mimics the aromas. Great balance of ripe fruit, velvety tannin, and integrated acidity. Medium plus finish. More finesse than sheer power, but this should cellar for at least another five plus years.
