MacLaren Syrah Samantha's Vineyard

Pop and pour with pizza. Looks like “Pinot Syrah”, on thinner side as others have noted. Nose has caramel, licorice, black tea, red leafy currant and floral/soapy notes. Palate is similar with medium+ acid, lavender and black olive earthiness. Even after 90 minutes of air it’s surprisingly linear. Not sure I’d get this again as we’re not Pinot drinkers and prefer heavier, wilder syrahs. If you have a bottle of this drink with food.

This has a subtlety and finesse not always found in domestic Syrah. Some would call it a bit thin but I think that’s incorrect.

Sour.
