Domaine Juliette Avril Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Fruity and light. Notes of cherry and blackberry. Medium tannins. Paired well with pizza. Very nice blend.

I took the advice of Talid and gave the wine a lot of air before dinner. It was superb. Ruch taste, but not ooverwhelming -- great with food.

1.5 hour decant. Initial strong diacetyl (fake popcorn butter) on the nose that overwhelmed the wine. This thankfully dissipated by the second glass leaving behind cherry and some herbs. A little on the lighter side but good tannin/acid balance. Overall quite good but, despite the favorable QPR, not a classic CdP.

Delicious.

With a subtle fruitiness that is sour cherry and blackberry. Warm and flavorful. Will sit on a couple bottles another year. We really enjoyed it.

Medium Tannin and Medium acidity. Disecant blackberries tart cherry leather and pepper. Dark and plum in color. Light brown on the edge of the glass.

Great launchpoint CdP. Ready to drink now but could also hold for another 12-24 months. Silky entry on mouth, black fruit, spice, hint of leather. All sorts of good stuff going on. Finish is well-integrated. A steal at sub-$30.
