Granville Pinot Noir Koosah Vineyard

Nose is savory and woody. Light to medium on the palate, light red berries, refreshing acidity. A very gentle touch compared to the 2010 Williams Selyem that I opened early and decided was undrinkable. This is a lighter, fresher, redder style of Pinot. As per tasting at the winery this summer, this is too young but enjoyable. I'd give it 2-4 years for your next bottle.

Few hour slow ox. Deep magenta color. Blackberry, raspberry, thyme, granite, and subtle maple syrup. Smooth, dry, tight, tart palate, with good acidity. Firm tannins on the longish finish. This is very youthful, but it’s an excellent Willamette (Dundee Hills) PN. This was a new label to (my friend Ian set up the tasting for us). Definitely a winery to keep an eye on if you enjoy top notch Oregon PN and Chardonnay.

From a tasting room pour. Appearance: Clear, pale-medium ruby. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with aromas of black cherry, pomegranate, plum, and allspice. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium tannin, medium body, medium intensity with flavors of slightly tart red fruit - pomegranate and cherry and spice with a medium finish. Somewhat light in intensity but very persistent from front to back.

Pnp at heirloom. Lovely stuff. 13%

Tasting pour at Granville. Red berries, pretty nose. Palate is more red-fruited to me and feels like it needs a few more years to round into shape.

PnP. Consistent with previous note from July 2024. It's lost a bit of the exuberant, youthful fruit character, but this still has terrific structure to age. There's a lot to like right now, but I think several years of bottle age will reveal a lot more.

1st time trying this. Bright medium ruby. Nose is youthful, exuberant, bright, with crushed red rocks and gravel. Palate is about medium in body, punchy acidity, tart and crunchy red berries, light cola mouthfeel in nature, very nice. Definite re-buy.

PnP. Dark cherry, red and dark berries, spice, some florals, and lower level notes of loam and earth. Fruit leans dark and a bit towards ripeness, but it's not overblown or jammy and there's a good tannic backbone (but not overly hard tannins) and enough acidity to keep everything in balance as it ages.
