Kuleto Estate Sangiovese

From magnum. Just terrific and got better with every sip. 3 hours of great pleasure.

see my last notes for flavor profile. Nearly two years later, this bottle opened much faster and was better overall. Is this the peak or does this wine benefit from more age? Unfortunately, this is my last bottle, so I won't find out, but this is surprisingly good new world sangiovese.

Dried cherries, Chinese plum, leather, tannic charcoal and a long, slightly tart finish. This wine needs time to open. At first, I thought it was over the hill, but in fact, it was just closed. It took 90-120 minutes to open. The telltale sign of drinkability was a hint of maraschino cherries on the nose. A complex, rustic wine, that gets better and better, albeit with a certain ceiling.

Pleasant nose of a bit of leather and dried cherries, but hard to overcome the heat. High alcohol overwhelms the delicate flavors that are attempting to emerge.

Above average Sangiovese -- great color, nose & palate. No harshness on the finish, yet provided some crispness with food. Nice go-to, but a bit pricey for everyday quoff.
