Rasmussen Vineyards Syrah

This one is getting a little long in the tooth. Aromas of dried fruit and tobacco but maintaining good ruby color in the glass with little bricking. Much of the typical fruit flavors of Syrah have faded but the wine is still holding on to some grippy tannins and medium acidity.

Dark ruby color in the glass with a ruby (trending towards garnet) rim. The bouquet tells you right upfront that this is an older wine, with notes of sour black cherry, plum and dried fig. The palate brings some muddy earth along with rosemary and more fruit. At this point acidity is medium-minus and tannins have subdued to also be at that level.
