Popped and let sit open in bottle for about 30 minutes before having with grilled Filet Mignon. Red fruit with great balance... medium bodied with soft sweet tannins. I am a big fan of the regular Chianti bottling, but this has taken it a step beyond. Great effort from Fattoria di Bagnolo and a good value

Deep ruby color. Medium body. Very fragrant nose of violets, red fruit and a touch of sandalwood that carries over into the palate combined with dark cherry, cranberry and some tobacco. Still on the young side with pronounced tannins and acidity, but the slightly fruit forward profile creates a balance for pleasurable drinking now. The wine, however, has at least another 10 years ahead of it and is probably 4 or 5 years away from its optimal drinking window. Great …
