Some floral elements remain, but the flavors are muted and washing out.

Pro cork, 12.8% alc. Medium garnet with a copper tinge. Elegant and complex nose, slightly vegetal and faecal upon opening; needing some air. Berries and floral perfume wafts from the glass; cherry, raspberry, menthol, forest floor, iron shavings, and a nutty top note. Despite its fruit-forward nose, it is not overt and shares some similarities with old-world Pinot. Soft and plush on the palate yet not blousy. Has cooled up tension. Only medium bodied and it finishes impressively long. A …

Amazing aromatics with perfume, red fruit and potpourri, almost Prieure Roch like. Cloud colour. Palate is tart and lean. Past its peak.

Tasted blind in a Burg line up. More acidic then the other wines, then green asparagus. Not so impressed here. Some were guessing Coteaux Champenois. After a while it softened in the glass and got a bit better, still nothing to write home about.

A horrible horrible wine. What was Philip Jones thinking? Not much although to be fair, he was unwell at the time. This wine should have never been released. This was my second bottle and the only destination suitable for this wine was the sink.

my last bottle of this perfectly cellared since release, I must say it is good to see the end of this monstrosity, I was always worried it's presence may infect other bottles of good wine in the cellar. opened as a curiosity after a 2015 horizontal, we had a small taste each, and tipped the rest down the sink. this wine has always displayed more terror and terroir, and any self-respecting winemaker would never have allowed it's release.

“There is no such thing as a great vintage, just a great bottle” - so the saying goes. Having experienced disappointment with the last bottle bottle (cork problem I suspect), this one was a beauty. Beautifully balanced between fruits, floral aromas, depth of complexity and a most beautiful finish. Power and grace all dancing together. Can go further but not sure it will be much better. Tip: all Bass Phillip wines need decanting, at least 2.5 hours before drinking. A …

Drinking Bass Philip can be a frustrating experience. It is akin to driving an old Jaguar. When it is on song, it is great. When it is not, it splutters along with the cassette being stuck on the same song and you never arrive at the end destination. You end up saying “if only”. So this was my experience with this bottle on the weekend. We have a few more, let’s see what the others will bring. As a result, …

Popped and poured. Medium garnet in the glass. Showing complexity right off the nose and a very Burgundian touch indeed. Florals at first, but opens up to notes of hibiscus, cranberry, raspberry and dried strawberry. Subtle oak present as well. Medium-bodied showing medium level of acidity and a very soft tannic structure. Smooth and sweet with laser-like focus. Medium finish. Good stuff, easily in the top 5 Australia Pinots I've tried.

Tasted blind. Lots of sweetness on the pallet, feels French aromatically, bright, fruit, meaty, smoky. Lots of acidity and lots of fruit at the same time. I was guessing Cote Rotie. Pinot it was. Interesting wine

SLDS October 2017 #2 : Blind. Graphite, spice, cherry, slate and roses. Red cherry fruit on the palate, plenty of flavour, with good structure as well. Good length, this feels like it is biding its time and will come together again. Not nearly as expressive and pretty as it was close to release, feels in between life stages at the moment.

absolute swill. We tried two bottles of this, so unless both were co-incidentally corked, this is one of the worst "premium" pinots from anywhere in the world we have tasted. About a glass from each bottle, consistent notes amongst the 8 tasters present, and the remainder down the sink. bleh....

Ruby red, light to medium weight, a faintly unfiltered look to it. Clear, clean pure red fruits, mainly cherry and just a hint of pip spice. Not much oak evident and no real development. With time a nicely earthy fragrance developed. Medium weight, creamy style, but still with suppleness and some style. Red cherry with a hint of black and damson. Lovely gentle spice, with a beautiful long finish. Very fine soft tannins and good acidity. Seems still quite coiled …

Cloudy. Tastes like pinot noir, but uncharacteristically thin and uninspiring for this normally robust bottling. Steer well clear

More acidic than the 2010, yet bigger, bolder with black fruits and a meaty character. Great!

10x20 Victorian Tasting (Customs House, Sydney, Australia) : My favourite wine of the night. Intensely fragrant and floral nose of rose petals, earth, cherry and subtle spices. The palate is brilliant - it has amazing focus and structure and even though it is youthful, there is a layered complexity to it that just takes this to another level. Superb length and a stunning wine overall.

10x20 Years Victorian Tasting (Custom House, Circular Quay, Sydney) : Muted nose that offers some creaminess over savoury red fruit notes and slight hints of smoke. In the mouth the wine is savoury and earthy and very tight but not astringent. I just think it needs a bit more time to come together.

Medium red in colour, the nose benefits from aromatic oak and brambly cherry fruit. The wine is medium bodied and begins with bright cherry that gains pepper and spice over the palate with a peacocks tail of flavour that unfurls on the mid to back palate, centered around stewed cherry and subtle spices. The wine has the tannin and acid structure to reward medium term cellaring. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink from 2016-2019)

DRC vs The World Blind Pinot Noir Tasting (St Regis) : Very sweet ripe raspberries on the nose. The sweetness comes through on the palate as well with ripe red fruits, prunes and raisins. Quite special in its own way.

DRC vs the World Blind Tasting (St. Regis Hotel, Singapore) : I thought this was very impressive. It was clearly a new world wine, but rather more restrained than one or two of the others on show. The nose was actually quite reserved at first. There was a background note of sweet red fruit, a bit candied here, some earth, floral scents with an almost a citrus lift to the bouquet. Pretty attractive. Like the nose, the palate was a …
