J. Maki French Creek Ridge Vineyards VSP

This is quite a nice effort from a less established wine producing area. Some sharp notes on the nose but they go away with some air and there is some nice, warm fruit at the core. Backbone and structure is clearly more inspired by Bordeaux than California and it works very well with the lamb. Quite evolved and could easily be mistaken for a mature crus Bourgeois from a warmer vintage.
