By the glass. Wine blend in equal parts of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca. Mix of fruity aromas with other notes like spicy caramel on the nose. Modern in the mouth with a dense, heavy texture, nuanced by an adequate acidity and a decent persistence. Too solid and blunt for my taste. Por copas. Vino de mezcla a partes iguales de Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz y Tinta Barroca. Mezcla de aromas frutales con otras …

Purchased for $50, which I feel is high for a Barros. Opened for #tawnytuesday. Darker amber/tawny in color with lots of reddish hues. Initial nose of honey (lighter side of the "caramel spectrum") and dates. Very flabby on the palate, lacking acidity. Just feels flat and chunky. Tons and tons of heat on the finish. So much so, I had trouble finishing a glass. Burns just like an over-proofed bourbon. Way out of balance and a very short finish. Very …

P'Aquí P'Allá; 10/7/2022-10/17/2022 (Alicante y Madrid - España) : Nose has been transformed into burnt pneumatic and astringent vegetable notes. Some say that it has only been open for two weeks, get that f#ck out of my face, instead in the mouth it has memories of coffee beans, that sweetness of camphor or condensed milk just before becoming sour. Not very representative, I’m afraid. La nariz se ha transformado en neumatico quemado y en notas vegetales astringentes. Dicen que solo …

Drunk from D+8 Better than I remember it from last time - more edgy, richer - decent LBV on special offer at 11 euros.

Soft, supple - lacking the intensity I'd expect from such a young LBV, but a very pleasant quaff.

I usually prefer ruby port so I was very surprised out how good this tawny was. Smooth and slightly sweet, terrific with some dark chocolate.

Not terribly nuanced or bold, but paints with broad strokes of the usual suspects of fruits and nuts. Decent length. Very likable.

One of the best tawny values I've found.

Pale brown color with lots of fading around the rim. A powerful bouquet of toasted nuts, figs and dates poached in molasses. The palate is flavorful and much more subtle than the Barros 10 Year Tawny, dried figs and dates with toasted hazelnut and pistachios. Full-bodied, with lively acidity, weak soft tannins and a very long seductive finish. This is the kind of wine I want to have on a cold winter day by a hot fireplace with a big …
