Interessante Aromatik, weich süßlich, Tabak, amerikanische Eiche, aber auch ein wenig Lösungsmittelton. Eigenständig interessant. Reife, Wärme des Südens und beinahe Süße. 14 % Vol. lt. Etikett. Vermutlich 2006-2010 gekauft. Immer im Keller Dormagen gewesen. Selbst die letzten 100 ml am dritten Tag waren noch schön. Voll ausgereift auf dem Höhepunkt aber keine Eile. Solo oder zu Schinken. 90 Punkte!

Continua a evoluir. Notas acastanhadas tipo tijolo. Alta concentração. Equilíbrio perfeito. Possivelmente estará vivo em outros 20 anos. Excelente com churrasco.

Tasted next to 2001 Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial. Nicely evolved in colour and on the nose - vanilla, leather, smoke. On the palate dusty tannins, fresh, ok length and fruit, drying finish. Drink up. 88-90

Accidentally broken magnum by the neck while performing "racking" in my cellar. A deep crimson colour with a still very black core. A complex aromatic range that seems endless: ripe wild strawberries drowned in yogurt, burnt caramel, decaying rose petals, fresh marzipan, plantations of Virginia blond tobacco, leather soaked in wine, ... Afraid that I'd be too late for this one, but still going strong with long lasting taste of dark berries with a sweet touch to it. Quite heavy, and fit well with moose dish and then sri lankan chick curry.

Nach wie vor ein toller Stoff. Im Mund noch voll präsent mit einem Feuerwerk an Geschmacksnoten. Viel Kirsche aber gut eingebunden, etwas Kaffee, Vanille und schöner langanhaltender Abgang. Lecker!!!

Decanted for 3 hours, drunk with slow roast pork belly. Nose - lot of vanilla with hints of violets. Not showing much bottle age. Still good fruits, black cherries with long slightly spicy finish. Tannins beautifully integrated and softened. Drinking beautifully, will last but I don't think it will improve a lot more.

Genius bit of traditional winemaking with a modern flourish. Very clean, dark blueberry. Immediate and powerful nose of crushed blackberries, cherries in brandy, truffles and cinnamon. Opulent,sexy, voluptuous, with a fantastically bright and well-defined mineral finish. Ageing very gracefully, with another decade in it for sure. Superb.

Lovely deep garnet hue with slight brown hue at rim. Nose of cocoa, cherry/red berry leading to palate of cherry, red berry, a bit of creamy vanilla and wood, with moderate acidity. Tannins are fine here. Body is medium. The finish was long, the balance exceptional. This bottle was at its peak. One of my favorite Rioja reservas in a long time.

Mature but still dark colour for an aromatic (sandal-wood, white pepper, leather and candies even) Toro wine. Because these kind of wine used to be a strong one, on palate you can feel a long but rough finish. Good backbone and complexity but depending with you are comparing with. Matched with Roncal cheese. Classic Rioja, so without the too often so obstrusive vanilla from too abundant use of American oak. The nose of this Rioja is clear, spicy and creamy at once and a little reserved. Early decanting recommended. Don't drink this wine too warm, 16 or 17 degrees Celsius is perfect. Then this wine has enough fruit, although after drinking it, one has a very dry mouth, even when drinking water alongside. But it's worth it, this is a good Rioja.

Cor de cereja intenso, capa de meia intensidade, talvez mais escuro que um clássico vinho da Rioja. Em nariz um pouco apagado mas com notas finas tostadas da madeira, um pouco apimentado, frutas vermelhas. Em boca fresco, potente, de grande expressao, maduro e algo com especiarias. Os taninos sao maduros e um pouco adocicados. Excelente e a prometer muitos e bons anos.
