Not sure what to expect given the latest reviews, but the Bergfeld was pretty nice. Served with strip steak au poivre, and a cab with age paired well with the peppery spiciness and richness of the dish. The flavor of dinner and the Bergfeld lingered for a long time. The wine had a nice initial burst of melllow fruit, faded a bit at the mid-palate, and returned for a smooth, pleasant and extended finish.

Drank alongside 2005 Caymus SS and preferred this. This is a big, Cali cult wine but with more sophistication and less in your face stuffing than the SS. Velvety with dark fruits and long finish. Aromatic cab nose. If you like the style, this is a keeper.

Decanted for 30 minutes, then back into the bottle for another 2 hours before drinking with friends at Beaujolais. Favorite of the night - screaming to be paired with red meat. Highly aromatic. Big fruit and tannins on the way in and a long earthy finish.

The standard of high quality California Cab. This wine is peaking now. Tannins are a background element. Rich lingering flavor. Alcohol it too much for my personal taste but is equally weighted with the structure and flavors of the wine. Red meat wine.

Opened, but not decanted 3 hours before drinking. Dark and nearly opaque. Quite floral n the nose. Lots of ripe fruit, right on the edge of too much for me. Tannins were well integrated and there was just enough acid to keep the extracted fruit from going over the top. I don't think this could be mistaken for an old world wine. Just the same, very pleasant, tho pricey.

Great wine, beautiful nose with a palate of lots of red fruit, chocolate and spice. Decant and drink now or wait a couple of years.

Nose:plum, black cherry, berries, cedar, herbs and slight licorice. Palate:velvety and vibrant with dark fruit, eath notes, cedar and a bit af porgy character now and then. Improved in decanter over 4hrs. Finish: more dark fruit that had some red poking in. Cocoa and tobacco. Great cab.

Not a bad Napa Cab, but underperforms for the price. The palate is a bit thin, the fruit profile is more to the red than black spectrum. The finish is reasonable. If I had paid under $30, I might be more pleased.

Wonderful nose and incredibly smooth silky tannins. This was a beautiful bottle, although very unusual. Lots of light red fruit but also unusual spices for a cali cab, sitting on the undertone of buttery oaky base. This was a rather complex and interesting wine

This I found to be better than the Kathryn Hall, with a lot more complexity and pleasant flavors of plum, black cherry and tobacco. This, like all the red wines at Hall, needed more time to round into shape.

Fruit and herbs on the nose. Palate seems a bit thin. Finish is reasonable. All in all not bad, but a little pricey.

Tasted at winery. Rich & round wine that showed black currant & plum, tobacco smoke, and cedar all wrapped in beautifully sweet & fine tannins. Beautiful purity & mouthfeel, I loved the way this wine unfolded in mouth, moving from initial palate to mid palate to finish seemlessly. This wine had a real "Wow" factor. Both the wife & I agreed on this one. Purchased. Ready to drink now or hold for maybe 5 years.

Very nice dark fruit, hint of cedar and cassis. Silky tannins give the wine a very good structure. A very good wine.
