Displaying more fruit profile than the Sumo with distinct notes of black raspberry, currant paste and dried cherries. Amazing midpalate showing great poise and precision. Glimpse of mint and touch of underbrush. Oak laced, dynamic long driven finish. Hit all highpoints throughout 3 day drinking experience. Impressive, this could go into next year with ease. 96 cases produced. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. 2007 Keplinger Horizontal

So delicious. Soft, smooth, and still full of power. The fruit is clearly there but the smooth powerful body is the star of the show. Wish I had lots more of this.

Drinking really well right now, but still a young maverick that will only improve as it's tamed a bit in the bottle. Great juiciness and rich extraction. Pretty tight right out of the bottle, but this one exploded with aromas and flavors. Exceptional wine and one of my favorite California Syrahs.

Really, really solid. On the heels of my favorite US syrah of 2013, the 2006 Arkenstone, this Keplinger absolutely blossomed on day 2. I wasn't going to do a note, but what a powerhouse. Bravo Helen!

A very good Syrah that competes with the elite in California Syrah. It far surpassed my expectations and was better than my first bottle a few years ago. Sorry, no specific tasting notes taken last night. But, it was a big, intense, and focused Syrah - much in the vein of Saxum. Oak is pretty well integrated. I wish I had bought more!

Decanted 2.5 hours. Awesome nose - very intense aromatics with incredible concentration of flavor. On the palate, the wine is huge and mouthfilling. It was really too much at first, then once we started our meal (Argentinean beef fillets with chimichurra sauce and garlic mashed potatoes) the wine was "tamed" and the food & wine complemented each other very well. My advice is to wait several more years on this wine and always pair it with hearty food.

So young, but inviting. The nose is sweet and bright, showing plum, pepper and sweet cherries. In the mouth, well balanced, held its own with burgers and brats during Sunday football. Wish I had more!

Sweetness from oak, blueberry, raspberry, some mineral, pepper, and floral notes on the nose. Nice palate which remains energetic over the midpalate, with abundant fine grain tannins. Some of th alcohol shows through the nose and palate. Not up to the level of the other wines I've had from the 07 lineup, albeit fairly young. Day 2; this wine has dramatically improved. Bumped my 89 to a 91. Some coarseness on the nose should resolve with time. Would prefer a …
