No need to decant, the wine opens up after 15-20 minutes in the glass. Cassis, plum, blackberry, a little tobacco and a hint of dark chocolate. There is still a freshness to the wine. Fruit is present upfront with a long finish. Best with BBQ or steak, this is a wine you can have more than one glass in a sitting.

Dried Plums, black currant - a little jammy. Deep purple in color, tannins are silky; refined. Ageworthy wine. Balanced. Long finish. Good acidity. Will become more "smooth" with age.

Awesome wine Oak is a little too evident to my palate. I don't think age will help this, maybe I'm wrong. But it is a pleasant oak. Nose: Tar, black fruits, dark chocolate/cacao, licorice, dark cherry, slight alcoholic heat, cranberries. Palate: Delivers better than the nose. Plums, pomegranate, cedar, smoke, a nice handful of black white and green pepper. The only downfall I feel is in the mouthfeel and the evident alcohol heat. Feels a tad watery and not velvety …

Happy Malbec Day! Beautifully aromatic, luscious wine. Its name comes from the deep ruby colour of the wine that paint your glass with black tears. At 7 years of age this wine is near peak with harmonious aromas and flavours. Powerful oak driven nose with notes of chocolate, new leather and cedar with a fruit backbone of black cherry and plum. Tannins are chewy. Fresh acidity. Well integrated alcohol. Flavours are earthy and pepper with chocolate, black cherry and plum. …

100% Malbec aged in new and second use French oak barrels for 24 months. Decanted. Aromas show rich notes of boysenberry, blackberry, plum and cassis that shows effluent floral pastilles tones with anise, pepper, oak spice, cedar, herbs, coffee, earth and hints of new leather, cocoa and vanilla. Rich on the palate. Warming from the abv and showing a creamy mid-palate, firm cocoa tinted tannins and juicy balancing acids. Flavors show deep fruit tones of plum, blackberry, boysenberry and cassis …

No formal note, a well made version of malbec that has less oak and more nuance.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and black pepper. The body is medium/full.

Nice surprise. Has a bordeaux like nice upon initial pour that blows off after a few hours open. Black fruits, some cigar box, earth and leather. Good concentration on the palate, with some chalky but pleasing tannins. Drinking very well tonight. I enjoyed this throughly.

Purchased at Costco in Atlanta, GA - was very skeptical. Pop & pour - black/red color. On nose, red cherry, oak/vanilla (not overdone), dark chocolate and sweet cherry. On palate, cherry, blackberry & fig. medium+ body, medium acidity/ tannins and long finish - it's a big wine but it's got nice structure which is what I was worried about. Continued to improve with air. 92+ Would buy again.

Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $40+ (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA) : Darker core with larger violet rim; sweet plum, a touch foxy, lots of juicy qualities with oak manipulation, charred oak, canned green beans sneak in on the back, a confected/fake smell to it, heavy, powdered tannin, tart and acidified; an extremely concocted wine made in the cellar.

- Brick color with slow forming legs with a full body. Juicy texture with a long finish - BlackBerry dominates this awesome wine with subtle pepper and the right spice. Catch a little cinnamon and chocolate. Its like desert start to stop. Do drinkable right now and opens up in 10. Love it!!

It is a much better wine now than it was in 12/2014 but still very agressive, oak loaded, high alcohol fruit bomb. Gets better with decanting but needs to age more. Revisit in a year to see if there is room for improvement.
