This is very smooth and well integrated wine. But like most of Beckmen' s cabs and syrahs, this is big and rather heavy wine which is not particularly food friendly.

Life is good when you're sipping on a 5+ year old TLB. I cut my teeth in the '90s drinking cabs from Napa and Sonoma, but I have come to favor the warm cabernet fruit that comes from SB County for sheer drinkability. Love this wine.

This wine was the perfect choice for ushering in the new year on a chilly, rainy night. Slo-Oxed for 8 hours, this was plush and expressive with a nose of herbs, Christmas potpourri and roses. Wee bit of VA that didn't overly intrude. Decanting is recommended. (I also suggest you put the glass down and walk away from it occasionally, as this stuff is delicious and easily polished off in a hurry!)

The TLB series continues to impress. Lots of dark berries and a bit of spiciness.
