I disagree with previous reviews. I found this to have a very light body especially for a 2006. Nice floral nose, good up front fruit, but very light with a short peppery finish. The several times I have had Yamhill's wines I have noticed pepper which I find odd in a pinot. Still a well made enjoyable wine.

Much darker and fuller than your average Oregon Pinot. Very ripe, dark cherries, with a some underlying strawberry elements, a touch of sweet baking spices and finally pepper on the backend. Solid, but nothing really shines here to bring it to the next leve.

Nice balance of cherry, earth, and spice. Excellent QPR.

Very good Oregon Pinot. Good red berry and cherry flavors with smooth finish. Would buy again.

Actually a nice lower priced pinot. Good nose with some wood. Medium weight and smooth. The best part is a little funkiness, more burgundy than the manufactured candy bomb of many inexpensive pinots. Although excellent flavor, midpalate is hollow.

Discovered how much I liked this wine at the 2008 IPNC. Very nice, silky, slightly earthy and balanced pinot at a very decent price

The aroma opens with black cherry and spice. The fruit is typical cool climate pinot - subtle, complex, interesting. After about an hour a slight herbal grassiness emerges. Smells and tastes like pinot right from the press. Almost no oak and yet it is still round and generous in the mouth. Medium concentation, nice structure and will be better with a few years age. I had doubts about this no oak style but after aging a few as an experiment …

My Birthday (Metro Cafe & Wine Bar, NYC) : Lovely nose of cherry and strawberry. This wine should be extremely versatile with food as it has enough acidity to balance out a meal fairly well. Very supple on the palate and an decent finish. Not overly complex but great varietal character, good structure and well made overall.

Sweet soft spicy red fruit is the big takeaway here, telltale cherry Pinot fruit. Not as structured, balanced, or deep as the stunning 2005; the tannins are practically nonexistent. Still, this has its subtler charms: hints of menthol and nutmeg on the nose, good presence on the midpalate, and fine, persistent minerality on the finish.

Nose was nice smelled of dark currant, cherries, some wood, and stone. On the palate the body is light and silky, tasted of blackberry, cherry, chocolate, and had a mineral component which was interesting. A nice mix of old and new world.
