Best Pinot I have had in a long time

Coravin glass of a well stored bottle bought at auction (was included in a mixed case of other more promising wines). Pleasantly surprised in how nicely balanced and integrated the wine is, especially since I prefer lower alcohol wines. Not port like at all. Great nose. Elegant with lingering fruit.

Very big 14.9% abv for a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Not made for the long haul, it is now port like. All power, energy and acidity have faded. Drinkable but well past prime. By the way, I hate overwide bottles (deep punt) which only lead to storage issues or torn labels. (See image above).

Dark purple in the glass with some opaqueness and cloudiness. Not a fault. This is a big, extracted Pinot Noir coming from the Somonma Coast, with 14.9% abv, and I don't think it was built for the long haul. The fruit was tasting a little tired. Smooth tannins. Past peak so drink now.
