PnP. Wow! Just wow! This is a gorgeous Cabernet that on first sip brought to mind an old-school Heitz Martha’s. This is gorgeous to look at, and in both nose and mouth this really delivered, with well-integrated oak that lifts the fantastic fruit to great heights. Opened this bottle at Burlamacco last night with my university mates over a birthday dinner and year-end celebration. Decanted for 2 hours before serving. Purple in colour with notes of ripe berries, vanilla, figs, dried plums, chocolates. Smooth and silky. Hits all the right notes and delivers. Well done.

Full bodied, fruit forward wine. Excellent structure with notes of berries, vanilla and finishes with good tannins. It is easy to drink despite of its body. Another excellent cab from Napa. Enjoy it with some aged cheeses, red meats and spanakopitas.

As always, a top wine from Gallo doesn't get the respect it should. Put this wine under a different label and the average note would probably go up 3 to 5 points. In fact, I feel this is VERY similar in style to a Caymus Special Selection from the same vintage (93.3 on CT). This is rich, very structured with quality tannins and gobs of blackberries/raspberries. For the price, this is impressive. Most importantly, it brings pleasure. 222 barrels made. …

An excellent wine, vinturied/decanted, this certainly needs air, dark ruby in color, ripe and full on the nose, young if anything, but drinking good right now. Cellar for a few more years. A re buy.

Bottle has been open for almost 3 hours and first two glasses were poured thru a Venturi. It is still as tight and tannic as when first opened. There does seem to be some dark fruit buried in there but it’s almost impossible to tell. I will try again tomorrow night and hope a full day open helps. If it’s going to be any good I suspect it’s years away.

I prefer Gallo's Signature Series Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir with some age on it�the 2013 offers up a bouquet of that is more dark fruited than red.
