Aromas of stewed red and dark fruits with hints of cinnamon and allspice. Medium bodied, robust but smooth with moderate acidity and a long, mellow finish. Approachable enough for everyday drinking but elegant enough for a more special occasion - an excellent value and one of our favourites to have on hand for weekend get-togethers with friends and family.

The change in this wine after a couple of hours of decanting was remarkable. Drinking a glass right after opening, I was ready to give this a 70- almost nothing on the nose except a slight odor of wet rock and dirty socks, very little fruit on the palate, super light. It was a totally different wine after 2 hours- strawberry, floral nose, on palate some sour cherry, licorish, a little orange peel. still light and with a short finish, …

This is a good Tempranillo and an ok Gran Reserva. The 2000 is getting a bit tired now so if you have any drink it now. There is still lots of fruit in the mouth and finish is still very nice with smooth soft tannin. At $8 locally it has been a good value

Slightly better than I recall, but still not impressed. Too sour with an orange juice twang on the finish. The slightly drying tannin are starting to overtake the fading fruit.

Cherry cola and a bit of leather. A good food wine.

I was actually very impressed with this wine for its price point. Smooth, with good nose and fruit. Soft on the palate right out of the bottle. Would definitely buy again.

The first night i would rate at 83. I put the cork back in and let it sight overnight. Day 2 i would rate it an 87. It opens up and the fruit seems to be more apparent. Not bad with a piece of very dark chocolate. If i paid more than 8 bucks for it i would have been more disappointed

This was the 9th (or so) bottle I've had and was not up to the standard. Still a good wine for the price the color was lignt rusty red. Nose had notes of fruit and berries. The taste lead with a ligh fruit and fllowed with nice tannin and lite oak. The finish was nice and long but on this bottle rather thin.

Nose has cranberry, under ripe strawberry & some spicy wood ~ Palate is medium bodied, moderate acid & moderate + tannins with flavours of tart cherry, floral notes & a bit of licorice ~ An okay wine at this price but would be better with a fatty dish

You really need to let this one open. When you do, you can really taste that familiar tobaccoish spice.

This really is not ready to drink until it has been open and decanted for 2-3 hours. At that point some sour cherry and tobacco emerge with peppery spice in the background. The finish is short(+). Decent QPR, but again, open this a few hours in advance to realize its potential. The fruit is a bit muted even at that point but this is more than just drinkable.

Decanted 30 minutes before tasting. Clear medium garnet-blood-ruby. Nice bouquet of dusty cherries, leather, cedar. Not as nice on the palate. Musty, bitter, herbal, faded fruit. Improved a bit after 90 minutes. We couldn't decide whether this bottle was over the hill, not ready yet, or even possibly corked.

Tasted "flat". A bit sour. We're not sure what they were trying for here, it's a 10 year old wine so there's no tannins left. Instead of a nice velvety taste, we get a boring wine. Pass.

Best Tempranillo I've ever had. In fact, I wasn't too sure I liked Tempranillo before drinking this wine! Aged 10 years, the nose is very fragrant with cherry, some licorice, oak, & vanilla. And everything you smell you can taste. The length is above average, and it's well balanced. Excellent wine, and the nose is even better than the palate (though, again, the palate is great). Viva el Tempranillo!

Horrible on pop & pour - thanks to prior notes I decanted for ~ 1 hour. This wine was drinkable but did not taste like a Tempranillo to me. Dark red color w/ beginnings of clarity on outer rim (looked relatively young). On nose, burnt rubber / black cherry / dirt (not bad). On palate, something seemed a tad off- black cherry / sour cherry / earthy & bitter on attack & finish - medium body & short finish. For …

Licorice, sour cherry, vanilla, and a wild, sour fruit lambic bit of funk on the nose. Simple, tart cherry palate with good acidity and vanilla creme soda finish. Acceptable for $11 but not true to the variety or aging process.

This seems like a nice European style wine. It is not sweet. I'm eating it with a little Manchego and that works well. By itself it was less interesting.
