My tasting was consistent with all the notes below. Incredibly dense and concentrated fruit. Perfect acidity. A long juicy finish.

A big brooding wine even at 15 years old!

Dinner at Bavette’s Steakhouse in Las Vegas. This wine needed about an hour before it really started to shine. Notes of blueberry, black cherry, black plums wrapped in a dark chocolate wrapper on the nose. Vibrant yet elegant with beautiful, clean black fruits and crush minerals and granite on the palate. In a good place right now. Not sure I’d want more age on it.

Delicious as you would expect, this wine is both rich and abundantly structured with dark cherry, cedar and blackberry on both nose and palate. Tannins are moderate but present enough to ensure a long life for enjoyment of this wine with the possibility of further improvement as the structure and minerality. The finish is only of moderate length but otherwise this is a wonderful enjoyable wine for now through at least 2028.

A beautiful sweet red cherry massages your nose, awakens your senses, and prepares them for a savory black pepper & red licorice/cherry palate. Pairs very well with any red meat but the tannins do indicate that this could use another 7 to 10 years after which I would assume at least a 2 point eating increase.

Lange afdronk. Mooi en verleidelijk. Algemeen / potentieel: Koeler drinken. SUPER JONG! NOG LANGER BEWAREN!!!!!! 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 14 + Smaak / Afdronk: 19 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = …

WOW, simply delicious! Layers of blackberry, cassis, vanilla, and spice notes on the nose and layered palate with a killer long finish. Paired beautifully with family at Easter dinner.

Wine Spectator newbies; 10/18/2018-10/20/2018 (Marriott Marquis) : Amazing what a difference a few years makes. This was much more intense even than the 2005 was. Lots more vanilla and fruit. Less of the pepper or spiciness. This feels not quite as well pulled together as that wine. Perhaps it's just the difference of a few more years in the bottle?

Very worthy of its Parker rating. No flaws. Moderate rim variation. Small amount of sediment. Very dark ruby color in the glass. Hard for me to know where this is in the spectrum of Schrader wines. Florals/Fruits seem a little dampened to me on the nose and in the mouth. Very, very smooth. Low tannin and acids. Medium alcohol. Long finish. Paired perfectly with grilled lamb chops. Perfectly ready to drink.

Needs more time, if you are opening now decant for more than 2 hours.

Powerful, concentrated and deeply colored, this wine offers intensity, purity and length There are no hard edges to be found, The wine takes over your palate with layers of ripe, sweet, black and blue fruits There is nothing timid with this wine. Yet, somehow, everything remains balanced. This is still young and vinbrant at ten years of age.

Huge, blackberry overtones, with lovely fruit of many colors underneath. Nearly overwhelming, this is definitely Thomas Rivers Brown at his most oppulant, but still under control. PDQ95

Spectacular juice. Has all the creme de cassis, espresso and dark chocolate you could want and in all the right places. Drank out of sub-optimal stemware since we were at Cafe Bizou with Mendozas prior to Coldplay (man what a concert, fireworks and all!!!). 3 hour decant. Maybe could have used even a little more air, but it was singing. This has many years of life left in it.

This really sucks. My computer rebooted while I was creating an epic tasting note for this wine, the first on CT (even though about 80 bottles have been consumed and 300 are in storage). It was an hour-by-hour documentary on this wine. Oh well, no time to recreate it. Suffice it to say it had the following from beginning to end: Kirsch, saigon cinnamon, ripe black plum, raspberry liqueur, leather, hints of tar, hickory smoke, glycerin. More red fruit than …

Decanted for 6 hours. This wine is absolutely beautiful. Tons of red cherries, violets, spice, and mint. Very nice minerality on the mid palate. Very powerful finish that creates wonderful balance. This wine definitely needs as much air as possible if opened young.

This wine is so big in the mouth I can't compare it to anything else. It had been decanting at MA's before our Capital Grille dinner but was way too cold when we started to drink it. This is a monster wine that is not near ready in my mind without extended decanting. I had one glass before dinner and one following dinner and the second glass was still not open to what I know is there. This is a …

Night with the boyz at Chez Tolerico (Chez Tolerico) : Opened for 10 hours in a wide base decanter, which it needed! Great nose of sweet raspberry, blackberry, licorice and spice. Palate has a ton of chewy tannins that coat the mouth, loads of dark fruit with a great mouthfeel. This is some serious stuff!

My curiosity got the best of me as I am sitting on several 08 Schrader's, and have really wanted to test the waters on one. It took about 4 hours before it started to truly open up a bit, and even then, the nose was a bit subdued compared to past RBS bottlings I've experienced (the aromatics of the RBS's tend to be incredible). The fruit was very nice, but not the layered explosion I've come to expect from a …

Couldn't resist opening up one of the Schrader bottles after church on Christmas Eve. Popped, decanted, and poured. The RBS had tons of cocoa and that super fine tannin structure that the Schraders exhibit. The fruit was great, but wasn't the overwhelming exhibition that the '07 are putting on now. Blame the premature drinker rather than the bottle. . .
