Friendly bordeaux blend, enjoyed it, uncomplicated, fairly balanced and non-jammy for an American

Agree with previous notes. Full bodied, solid wine with lots happening. Certainly drinking well now but no hurry. Dark red fruits, a touch of liquorice, oak present but in the background, nicely balanced. Notes listed after 30min on opening but I believe it will open up more and improve.

1st glass, just after opening was good, oak dominated (colour and nose) but still a good drink with great length. 2nd was a couple hours later and what a change. Colour is now ruby, fresh mint on the nose with plum following. In the mouth, really soft, with a finely balanced tannin. The fruit is not overpowering at all, with a wild strawberry at the end that keeps going. It could be said this is a bit “flat”, but this …

Sweet and subtle vanilla oak nose. Perfectly balanced mouth-filling palette. Plenty of dry tannins countered by lively acidity. Great wine!

Drinking really well right now. Cool expression with a lot of berries and nicely rounded mid palate but with a long fine finish.

Colour: Opaque, black crimson Nose: Black currant, menthol, olives, spice Palette: Menthol, blackberry, cream, plum, pepper, red liquirice Tannins are quite drying and long. Very nice now but will improve over then next 5 years or so as the tannins at the moment are slightly greenish.

Nice nose of mint, cedar and blackberry. Theres a bit of mid palate sweetness which suggests the wine drinks better when more tannin is present. Good acid balance with a medium to short finish.

Excellent wine great depth of flavor good acidity. Tannins are soft and wine is refreshing and bright. Some green notes including mint, and red fruit. Finishes with chalky tannins that linger.

With mint on the nose but otherwise beautiful fruit on the nose. Good tension on the palate with solid black fruit. Maybe just a bit of earth down in there. Tasting great now.

NobleRottersSydney - even year Cabernet (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney) : [Aaron] {cork, 13.5%} Off-theme; a rogue bonus wine served solo. Sour cherry, white pepper, light currants. Palate is medium-bodied; stemmy, grippy, peppery; low/medium dusty tannins, medium acid. Not overtly green on the palate, not oaky. Short/medium dry finish. OK value for the ~$30ish it costs; still tasted a cut below the other wines tonight, even given its relative youth.

13.5% abv. Screw cap. Pure fruit expression with little oak influence, which I appreciated. This was on the lower ripeness side of things and tasted very young, with mouthfeel that had a hard edge to it. This was good but needs a couple of years to flesh out, I think. Overall, this was pretty unremarkable, with many cheaper, low to mid-range Aussie Cab options available in the US marketplace right now (i.e. Kilikanoon, Kaesler, Vasse-Felix, Yaldara, to name a few).

Blackcurrant, toast, plum, cream almost buttery, rich. On the palate it's got juicy acidity, sweet spice, a little alcohol, toast, blackcurrant and grainy tannic grip. Long, finishes a little warm. Okay.

Berries, currants, liquorice, black olive, cigar box, and plenty more. Smashable as per my note from 6 months ago, though that word under sells it. Lots of tannic grip on the finish. Double decanted this time. Fruit showed better and length also seemed better. Touch and go for 92.

Smashable MR cab merl. That said, very tannic drying finish, so you'd have to like tannin to enjoy this as much as I did. Finish not hugely lengthy, and there's a question of whether those tannins will integrate in time, otherwise could have scored a point or two higher.

This wine plays in that perfect place between sweet and savoury. There are fresh cassis notes coupled with cedar, tar and tobacco. It is beautifully crafted with a glossy feel in the mouth and plenty of flavor. It is user friendly in that there are no hard edges but there is still structural grip on the finish to allow further mid-term development in the bottle.

Dark fruit, aniseed/iquorice... really lovely but so young it's very difficult to enjoy. I imagine this will be a fantastic wine in 3-5 years. Day 3 and this wine is still improving. Honestly, stock up at $25/btl. This is going to be amazing. Can't wait to try the other Woodlands wines.

{screwcap, 13.5%} Dark ruby. Very margaret River nose of black olives, dark currants, asparagus even, and some high-yield mint. The palate is pretty loose-knit, with low level, faintly gritty tannins, minimal oak, some plummy merlot fruit to not-quite offset the darkish green cabernet flavours, and a medium-bodied weight culminating in a shortish, competent, but unmemorable finish. It's the bottom level red in Woodlands' hierarchy, but it's decent enough, dusty and not sweet.
