Memorial Day weekend tasting (Willamette Valley/Ribbon Ridge, Oregon) : One of the finer 2006s I've had. This shows very rich, luscious large fruit on the nose. The palate is big and thick, with some grippy nature, like wood covered berries. Quite spicy. The finish is really spicy, but impressively structured and balanced for a 2006. All the components are in place here, with nice pleasing acid, fruit, and structure.

Absolutely delicious. One of the most memorable Oregon Pinots from a heavy-handed vintage. The complexity, but at the same time balance, of this wine was almost overwhelming. Just an enticing nose with ripe cherry, perhaps hints of leather, and pepper. On the palate a really long finish and silky texture. Just the right mix of fruit and earth on the palate.

This bottle is full of very ripe red fruit so ripe it's almost candy like. It has a little leather and on the nose and palate but it's over powered by the fruit and it's all overpowered by the alcohol, 14.2 according to the bottle.
