Little long in the tooth but still enjoyable. Drink very soon if you're holding as its not going to get any better.

This was hot and really disjointed. Bummer as these Vineyard 29 Aida zins usually age incredibly well.

Drank alongside a ‘15 Melka Majestique La Chatelet at Nobu with friends. This wine was delicious. Still contained bright fruit and silky tannins. I have had a ‘p6 and ‘08 Aida in the last 6 months and the ‘05 is superior. All four of us preferred the ‘05 Aida tonight and it wasn’t even close. Wish I had more. Drink now - 2027.

14.8% abv. A very hot nose with strong licorice notes. Dense, polished, bright fruit. Good acidity. Cedar, raspberry notes. Nice long finish.

Last of 6 and first in the past 14 months from an auction lot I’ve enjoyed immensely. The deliciousness factor of this wine is off the charts, right there with the best I’ve had, which didn’t seem foreordained when I had the first bottle 3+ years ago and the structure was already fully integrated. In the interim, this has become a wine that’s good to go off the opening, and it’s possible that the delineation and intensity have lost half …

Fifth of 6 from the auction lot of about 2 years ago, and, to use the malapropism of a former president, I think I misunderestimated this wine. When I had the first bottle, which I didn't air out, although I really enjoyed it, I found it on the edge of extraction, a bit boozy and with underlying notes of prune to go with the cherries, cassis and blackberries, making me ponder if this was on the edge of oxidation. Four …

Bottle 3 of 6. Gave this 60-75+ minutes of air, which it appreciated. Consistent TNs with 8/19. Powerful and impressively complex, subtlety may not be the first word that comes to mind with this bottling, but this is absolutely delicious (or, as one of my favorite CT writers might say, fun). Really impressive persistence and intensity after air and on night 2 gives me the sense that this may not be as late in its drinking window as I initially …

First of six from a recent auction purchase ($84@), motivated by positive impressions of V29 from a fairly recent Spring Mountain tasting and the discount of the price vs. retail for this bottle (not to mention what the current release is going for). No decant after my recent experience with the La Jota cab which ran out of steam after being open for a few hours, but opened about 20-30 minutes before first taste. Giant nose of very ripe blue …

Decanted 1hr, paired extremely well with lamb chops glazed with EVOO, Dijon Mustard and rosemary, this cab has been in my cool cellar for almost a decade, very well balanced, full of cherry, cassis, plums, currants, cedar notes and a burst of blue fruit on the finish. This cab is.a beautful example of Napa bench fruit, certainly needs to be consume over the next few years. Yum,

Terrific, full throttle California cab. Flavors of black and red fruits, cassis, leather spices. Big nose, fleshy, structure body and Long finish. Lacking the a bit of class and subtlety which would make it great.

Decanted for three hours, which it needs. All the big, rich fruit and cassis you'd expect from a first class Napa cab blend. The mouthfeel is lush and velvety, and the wine's best feature is probably those gloriously sweet, fine tannins. Outstanding.

Drank with friends at a local BYOB. It stood out as the fruit exposed from the glass. Wish we could have had more time to let the bottle settle in after opening as it may have been a 96 with decanting.

Best bottle yet. Glad we waited. Will age or ready to drink now. Better than wines costing twice as much (though this one is not cheap.) Exceeded only by the more expensive estate and the less expensive Cabernet Franc.

Not being a red fan I was astounded how much I enjoyed this Zin! Poured half hour after opening. Rich, intense cherry with spice undertones. Great with ribs. I've gifted several bottles of this wine and now will hold remaining bottles, thinking time will only improve it.

brought to Ruth Chris's, dinner w Louis. I enjoy good Zins, and this is as good as any zin I've had. Smooth, balanced, not too hot. Raspberry, blackberry, maybe a tiny mineral taste on finish. Outstanding. Only issue is it is more expensive than other zins

See previous note- the creamy texture has gone away, but the aromas have intensified- hedonistic with plum, blackberry, cedar, coconut, vanilla and white peppeer. The flavors of berry, dark fruits, vanilla, plum, and cherry are followed by a mouthfeel that is full and structured. This has some time left, but I prefer it early.

A Zinfandel that can make a non Zinfandel fan a believer. Not your typical over the top, ultra ripe Zin. More of a medium body style with a soft, smooth texture. That said, this is a huge wine, but the fruit dares you to try and find a trace of heat. Deep, bright cherry flavors surrounded by blue and black fruits. Finishes with warm, spicy, peppery notes that linger for a long time. There is a lot of complexity here …

This is everything that I want in a Zin. Deep, concentrated, rich dark fruits with a creamy texture and some vanilla and cedar on the nose. LOVELY. There is still some heat which should go away within two years.
