Weekly tasting group #106; A mixed set of red wines. (@ My place) : In the bouquet a bit dusty with some herbs and spices. On the palate cherries, red currants, dried fruits, some herbs and spices and bell pepper. Good acidity, a touch of sweetness and some bitterness. The tannin is mild. Early maturity now. No problem keeping this until 2015 or 2016.

One note for both the 2008 Cornas Les Mejeans and the Cornas Les Terres Brulees. The Mejeans has a somewhat sweet start followed by red as well as black fruits and good acidity and tannin. The Terres Brulees has a little less sweet, but very juicy start. The fruits are more black and outspoken; black cherries and blackberries. There is some minerality and the wine has a good balance between sweetness and acidity and good tannin and a long finish. …
