Gotham Mataro Reserve Old Vine

Classic mature Mourvèdre / Mataro, this is all rich black fruit, dark plum, blackberry, and a cracked black pepper spice, softened by a hint of cinnamon and clove. The years have been kind here - often a grape that’s a bit tough in youth, this has held up well & softened in age. Still another 10+ years though, I reckon.

Violets, dark and deep colour. Balanced finish with fruit and tannins lasting a long time. Good wine.

As good as ever. Velvety texture as well, on Days 2 and 3 from transferring to a half bottle.

Lovely wine, particularly on Day 2. Not rated as fighting off a cold.
