Fresh sour apple, chalky mineral. Silky, fleshy, somewhat creamy green fruit, touch of apricot. Broad sour acidity wi/sappy chalky finish. Balanced.

Tasted unblinded at the Vintage Wines, Ltd. wine bar, with a very similar impression to that of 5/20/11 (having forgotten that I had previously tasted the wine three months earlier). Very underwhelming. Drink now-12/12.

Tasted at the Vintage Wines, Ltd. wine bar. Pale yellow robe with clear rim. Clean nose, showing muted aromas of lemon and butterscotch. Light-bodied and borderline flabby on the palate, with subtle tropical fruit flavors and no minerality. Short-to-medium, flabby finish. Although Ramonet is a great producer, it is not evident in this entry-level quaffer. One's wine dollar would be better spent elsewhere. Drink now-12/12.

This had very light floral notes, very slight mineral notes, somewhat neutral, but clean; the body is light, austere, with dry minerals. Good quaffer by a renowned Burgundy producer.

California Wine Tasting Adventure; 8/2/2010-8/6/2010 (Napa, Sonoma) : At lunch at RN74. Nice Aligote. It is a good afternoon sipper. Very pale color. A hint of wood on the nose. Very light minerals and the faintest of tropical fruit. This needs to be served cold. An austere Aligote and certainly not too complex. A good wine to drink and not think too much about.

2007 Bourgogne Aligote Blind Tasting : I liked it because it smelled like Chardonnay, it was bigger and bolder than the other wines, and it had a lovely pungent minty nose. Scott thought it was the most complete wine. Justin thought the nose was great, with granite, rock, and soil. Joe felt that it was beefed up a bit. somehow made larger than it would naturally be. He felt a wood presence intruded on the wine. For whatever it's worth, …
