Mineral but still some type of citrus fruit up front. Crisp acidity. Nice and clean like an old world style.

Similar notes to previous tasting. I really like this wine - old school in its style. Ageing beautifully.

First time tasting this wine and thoroughly enjoyed it. Oak shows through giving the wine a good structure. Quite nutty. Fruit and acidity present though to give balance.

Unoaked Chard - If you’re looking for a big buttery chard this is not it. It is nice fresh apple, pear with citrus lemon and grape fruit. A bit of cream for I am assuming malic fermentation. Smooth, with crisp acidity. Medium body. Medium finish with the apple and citrus to the end.

pale straw color. Clove, tropical fruit, wet linen. Rich texture, lemon oil, strong mineral and good acid on finish. Solid.

Medium gold. Tight apple pear nose that is hard to get next to. Crisp and light, with green apple and lemon. 13.4% alcohol, limited oak, nice weight. Very pleasant.

An out of town like Chard which made me question its provenance. Really this is Sonoma ? Not my style of chardonnay but interesting nonetheless.

Good chunk of Ritchie in there I guess. Apparently not much oak on the wine but it certainly comes across like hazelnuts on the palate. Yet crisp on the palate. A strange wine, not not interesting, but hmm...

I'm told neutral oak but it smells a bit like new, not that its overdone or anything. And fine and staid and at $35 really not all that interesting but maybe I am missing something.

I tasted this against an excellent 2011 Bourgogne Blanc (from Meursault) and a 2014 Hamilton Russell Chardonnay, both a bit cheaper (in London). The other two both had much clearer, defined fruit (and the South African richer oak). The Red Car was curiously muffled in comparison, with some citrus and peach flavours, but underlaid with a musty, earthiness. As someone who has spilt many a cocktail in the garden, I like a mixture of fruit and earth, but this was …

bought 2 bottles and drank over New year's. this wine is what tickles my chardonnay palate for domestic producers. a sense of body and structure yet subtle fruit and a great earthy feel and undertone. good acidity and a nice long finish. my first experience with Red Car and I was impressed.

Tasted like a sour farmhouse ale, but I mean that in a good way. Sour citrus, slightly musty, but lovely and very good with the right cheese. Fun. Different. Not for everyone.
