Sweet aromas of violets, graphite, blackberry and blueberry pie. Hits the palate with black cherry, raspberry and licorice. Silky tannins and a 15-second finish.

Reminds me strongly of the 09 Maybach Materium I recently had. This is a powerhouse wine but it's not obnoxious. It's got a monumental spine with a finish until next Tuesday -- very smooth, with complexities that develop over the course of an evening. It was almost too much, rich and full-bodied, but it kept pulling back from being over the top. Could still use some air before consuming but I'd say the drinking window is just opening up. Really …

Vice Versa : A fun addition to the lineup, this VV BTK (labeled as “Napa Valley”) is a beautiful example of how these wines can show their maturity while still displaying youthful verve and energy. Black cherry, plum, red currant, cedar, leather, and some subtle earth. It’s certainly interesting to experience Paul Hobbs’ style here, with seemingly heightened acidity (or at least the illusion of it) when compared to Melka’s more silky mouthfeel - texturally speaking at least. Overall, this …

Big (huge!) new world wine. I swear, I would have bet A LOT of money that this was an Elderton Command 2005...and I would have lost:( The wine is currently offering a nice mix of primary (still tons of red/black berries), secondary (burned rubber) and tertiary aromas (sweet tobacco and humid forest floor). The only "flaw" is the heat you get from the alcohol on the finish; not a major flaw, but still impacting the overall experience.

Dark, plummy nose. Delicious with sweet berry and plum flavors, oak not overdone and imparting just the right amount of spice and smoothness, great balance overall. Medium bodied. Ready to drink now or in 5-10 years. Well priced, as Napa cabs go. I'd probably say Merlot if blind, but what do I know.

Nez sur le boisé et les fruits rouges. En bouche, boisé appuyé mais assez équilibré.

Amazing. Brief decant and gave it plenty of swirl. Brought to tasting in Asia and the blew away a 1994 Montrose and '95 Lafite. I like a great bordeaux but against an animal like this they mostly smell and taste like Grandma's closet. This wine rocks but then everything rocks from Andy B's little piece of heaven. I have one bottle left and cant wait to open it. Lots of jammy fruit, cassis, chocolate and smoke along with plenty of …

WOW! One of the best Napa wines I've ever tasted. Excellent purity, balance and concentration. Not at all an oak monster. Fresh blue and dark berries, spices and graphite shine in perfect harmony. Simply amazing! 2 hours decant.
