Perticaia Montefalco Sagrantino Passito

Deep garnet. Recioto-like, developed aromas of dried red cherries, dried figs, candied orange rind, earth, leather, sweet spices. Sweet, but not as much as one would expect, with the RS needed to balance out by the med (+) acidity and tannins. High but well integrated alcohol. Full-bodied, with a long and intense, savory yet sweet finish. A mind-bending style of "dessert" wine because it is sweet, red, tannic but not fortified.
