In der Nase feine Reduktion, tolle Holzwürze, fein-vegetabil. Dazu kalkig, maritim, fein und hell rauchig. Mit Luft helle Blüten, insgesamt sehr komplex. Am Gaumen dazu saftig, tolle Säure. Durchaus mit Power und Extrakt, feine Vanille. Dazu aber toller Fruchtbiss. Auch hier hell- steinig, maritim, dazu auch fein-kräutrig. Lang, würzig-pikant, große Klasse. Jetzt wunderbar, kann aber auch noch reichlich liegen. Hätte ich gern in Ruhe als Flasche über einen ganzen Abend.

Yellow fruity (pear, apricot); a little brioche; discreet, well-integrated wood; very mineral aftertaste; ripe yet lively acidity; all very fine and with a lot of depth. This is a quite wonderful and elegant Chardonnay. All elements are in the right balance and finely interwoven.

Still young and powerful. Light yellow color, elegant nose. Citrus and white peach. Intense vanilla notes and full bodied. Wonderfully balanced. Some acidity in the finish in harmony with fruit secondary notes. Will last many more years.

For someone who has been consistently disappointed with Chardonnay outside of Burgundy, this was actually quite likeable. Crunchy white fruit with just enough acidity. Reasonably skilful use of wood. Whereas the Cervaro is more fat and round this is slightly more linear.

Very precise and focused chardonnay. If tasted blind, I would have never thought about Alto Adige. Bouquet of vineyard peaches, some Granny Smith apples and chalky minerality. Closer to a high end Pouilly-Fuisseé in mouthfeel. Definitely one of the best, if not the best Chardonnay in Italy.

Very nice chardonnay from Alto Adige. Close to Bourgogne premier cru level, but a bit too much oak. Therefore missing a bit of elegance and cleanness.

Turning the corner. Lots of circus peanut aromas. Palate is much fresher, still circus peanut, but way fresh.

PNP. Cork perfect. Color straw. Nose has apples and a citrus note. Swishing shows brisk acidity and some minerals. Juicy fruit when sipped but the acid spine keeps things lively. Good to go tonight.

Rich, honey, oak, fairly long. You feel that this is a warmer climate than your average Sudtirol! Good stuff

“The Faces of Chardonnay”, Flight 7, Wine 2: The wine offered stone fruit, some citrus, nuts and some vanilla on the nose and palate, with medium to medium-plus acidity and good length. A fresh, medium-complex if a little boring Chardonnay. No real character here.

Tuscany 2006 Ten years after. (@ SvdV) : Tasted from magnum. In the bouquet ripe tropical yellow fruits and vanilla. Same impressions on the palate. The fruits can handle the oak perfectly. A very tasty wine with good and fresh acidity. Still quite youthful. Really good wine!

PNP. cork perfect. color dark straw. nose started a little peachy but then became unmistakeably chardonnay with bright apples and citrus rind. swishing this shows polished fruit supported by tingly acid that is not rough and just hints of oak tannin on the finish. sipping this shows even more richness but also more acid and a tingly medium length finish. This bottle was creamy all over, in fact I rarely see that much creamy wine, but very well balanced with nice freshness, smooth, mineral, matured. Excellent bottle, though a bit different from the previous one, nice one.

Woo-ha lovely surprise with this one. I got my doubts because of the age, but oh boy the wine needed an hour after opening to show its real charm. With very well tuned oak treatment, good acidity, good balance and flavors of dried lemons and oranges - real joy. From old vine >30y old, medium to full bodied, elegant and 13% of alcohol it gives burgundy a real challenge for half the price.

This wine was very interesting to me. The oak is immediately apparent on the nose, and you have to really look around for other notes. However, the palate isn't as smooth and buttery as heavily oaked Chardonnay can be. They don't push for full ML fermentation, so you are left with more biting acidity. This is a very correct chardonnay. Excellent balance of oak, ripeness, fullness, apples and pears. Really hits the mark. Very enjoyable and definitely above average.

Chardonnay tasting : Flowery, jasmine tea, sun-dried apricot on the nose. Mild and light. Some bitterness with a finish of barberry candy as well as cranberries on the back palate. Noble, metallic, feminine style. (B+)

Intense lactic nose, sauerkraut and apples - with more air the citrus fruit comes through as well. The oak is a bit obvious but certainly adds structure as well, although this is a very full and not overripe chardonnay, lingering on the palate for quite a while. 88++ give it a lot more time!
