The image is very close to the description on the official site of the wine vintage 2016, excerpted as follows. Colour is medium-full with brick and faint purple tints, the bouquet a feast of sweet black cherry and sous bois, with some spicy oak and subtle hints of whole-bunch fermentation. As shown on the label, complex and subtle, mellow yet excited on palate with pleasant acidity. 13.9% ALC/VOL. A stylish pinot noir from Tasmania.

I’m not a great fan of Australian Pinot contrary to what wine critics say, but this is very attractive without being simply a pretty wine. It’s just losing its youthful edges. Touch of toasted marshmallow; oak presumably, all expertly handled. Enjoy over the next 5-10 years. 13.9%, screwcap.

Red fruits, plum, spices, sarsaparilla, red florals, cloves. Medium palate with good intensity and extension in to the finish. Fine, silty tannins. Nice.

From the vineyards on the Moorilla property where we were doing the tasting. Because of some issues with vine rot these weren't quite as old as the full 57 years, but have more age the ones out in Matthias Vineyard. 20% whole bunch. All French oak with some new. For me the biggest difference to the Praxis was the additional of the …

At Faro, MONA, Hobart. Mostly wet earth on the nose. Dark fruits dominated, slightly sweet. Fine tannins and decent length. No hint of alcohol at finish. Approachable now and decent drink.
