Almost wanted to give this a 90. Consistent with multiple prior bottles - excellent fruit character and true to its appellation. Not a classic life changing wine but is absolutely serviceable and would appeal to new and old world drinkers alike. I had half of the bottle; drunk over one night. Vvv

1 hour decant. Nose: blackberries, earthy, cedar, mushrooms. Palate: blackberries, mushrooms, charred earth, some red fruit, medium acidity, well integrated and balanced.

Ready to go and easy drinking. Would appeal to new world and old world drinkers alike. Does benefit from a decant. Rich malbec fruit with enough acidity to keep it from being flabby or too plush, with enough restraint on the acidity to keep it from being astringent or sharp edged. I have a bottle of this producer's higher end cuvee 6666 that I look forward to trying one day.

Tasted blind after a two hour decant. Deep purple, only slightly fading at the rim. Beautiful nose of stewed dark fruits and violets. Some alcoholic heat was unwelcome. On the palate it delivers a balanced profile with fine tannins, medium body and acidity. Fruity, menthol, graphite. I guessed a Left Bank BDX. Looks quite youthful, clear red with purple highlights. Light body in the glass. Expansive nose, lavendar and plums the predominant notes. Soft and round on entry with quite a good finish. We have not yet had it with food; it is definitely fine alone. Has some aging potential but is fine now uncorked and poured. Remarkable value.

This was delicious- I didn't get to take super-detailed notes, but it showed really nicely, maybe a slightly bigger/riper style of cahors with more fruit than some, but that meaty or gamey accent I associate with Cahors was still there, along with the surprising acidic lift supporting the fresh black plum fruit. Not mind-blowing for the price but really super solid. I've had some more exciting Cahors for a bit less, most notably a 2020 Fabien Jouves Les Escures.

Open for business with a decant and promising significantly more, but I doubt will ever be a classic and profound Cahors. Thoroughly enjoyable now with 1-2 points upside potential in my opinion over the next 5-10 years. Dead end Sunday.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and dry on the palate. Showing black fruit, wood, tobacco, spices, licorice, cloves, herbs, vegetables, coffee and peppercorn. This is a nice everyday wine that will pair nicely with food. Needs a couple of hours to open up properly. Spicy and interesting. A blend of 85% Malbec and 15% Merlot. 13.5% alcohol by volume. 89 points. $28.

Give this one thirty minutes to open and then it's very good. I decided to buy a bottle after reading about Cahors in the fun book, Big Macs & Burgundy, Wine Pairings for the Real World. Authors Vanessa Price and Adam Laukhup are right on that Cahors Malbec from France is quite different from Argentinian Malbecs, and better in my opinion. I'll be buying more for my cellar.

Fairly perfumed for a Cahors. Or for a Malbec. Yes, more perfumed than expected. Palate is edgy, and certainly interesting. Youthful now.

Tasted multiple times over the course of six weeks using a Coravin. Deep ruby with medium aromas of red and blue fruit, toast, s' mores, acai berry, smoke, and spicey toasted oak. Currently, it needs at least an hour of air to pull back the astringent woodsy tannin to show juicy dark red fruit and nuanced flavors of coffee, dried leaf, leather, and tobacco. Without air, it does taste rather bland. Very good quality. I could see this being improved …

Straddles the line between elegant and bland. Light notes of black currant, blackberry, and bell pepper commingle on the nose and palate. The lovely, satiny mouthfeel belies its astringency.
