Very ready. Nice fruit--red fruit, lightly aged, tinges of plum, mineral, bit of stone edge, blue fruit acidity, blueberry sort of. Good, drank over several days, and was good across the time.

This is fabulous, and more than almost any other Gamay-based wine I've ever had, it shows that the kinship between that varietal and Pinot Noir is more than geographical. 88/89. Easily the brawniest Fleurie I've ever had. It begins to thin over time (and is in fact best two to three hours in). Nice with a chill. Strange funk on front -- not quite unpleasant, but closer to TCA (but I was convinced it wasn't actually corked) than to "earthiness." Not quite mineral-slathered the way I expect, and with none of the flower petals I associate with this cru -- more smoky, meaty, spicy, while still being unmistakably Beaujolais.

Disappointingly thin and somewhat dilute. Muted dark fruit flavors, almost no nose. At first we thought it might be corked but there's no TCA present on the nose or palate. Definitely a bummer.

Popped and poured. Temp was about 66F. Bright nose, lots of tart black cherry and raspberry, sandalwood, and notes of cedar. With air, a big whiff of jasmine and lavender came out, also orange oil.
