Fruit is fast fading, leaving acid, a little bit of green, and some slightly bitter tannins. Doesn't sound appealing, but it was actually quite delicious, especially if you are into the acid (i.e., it still lively and interesting). The flavors are a bit contrarian at this point, but again, may be great depending on your perspective. The vintage really shines through more than ever. Cellar temps for best result.

Medium bodied, moderate spice, low fruit profile - need to drink the ret we have quickly. This matches what we paid for it. Paired with spare ribs, can afford to put this next to spicier pairings.

PnP served non-blind. Consistently solid (and versatile) food (i.e. bistro style) wine; really should be consumed this year - simply no structure for anything beyond that. Solid at $10, but would come up way short at $20. 14% abv, drink thru 2013

Slow-O 1 hr. Working through my second case of this garrigue-filled lovely. Brilliant acids float ripe (phenolically) red and black fruits along a firm tannic river. For the price point (or twice the price point, for that matter) the nose is stunning, the palate, equally up to the task Brilliant stuff, and glad to have another 8 in the cellar. the nose is incredibly floral. I can't seem to get past it, I feel like I'm drinking a flower. Otherwise a very good deal on a well balanced wine.

Great QPR at $8 - thanks lastbottle! Light, fruity, and refreshing, but with enough of a mineral finish and tannic backbone to keep me interested. Glad we went in for a case, because I am reaching for this stuff on nights that don't warrant opening something nicer.

Given as a gift from a friend, decanted for about 30 minutes prior to first sip; drank over 24 hour period. This is all black peppercorn and brambles...which are two things I happen to love. Medium bodied...soft and velvety in the mouth but with enough acid to pair well with most foods. The next day, the alcohol was more pronounced but still drank nicely. Starts with nice spicy fruit and then goes sort of flat, lacking any acidic pop. The spice notes expand with air time, but the wateriness continues. Not sure there is much life left in these, but for $8 it is mildly enjoyable. Day 2 update. A little better, more pronounced acidity, but still a little watery.
