Blind Night (Rick) : Horrible

Very sicy on first opening. Devloped in the glass into quite sweet forthright red fruits. I ended up drinking this on its own having originally had it as a christmas turkey wine. The sweetness proved me very wrong on that!

Blackberry and blackcurrant aromas. Maybe some black tea. Little sign of development on the nose. Plenty of creamy fruit on the palate - wild fruits, strawberries and brambly fruits. Tannins quite rounded now, nicely integrated. Good length. Drinking well, and perhaps a year or two ahead of it too?

Fairly deep in colour with just a slightly tawny rim. Cherry aromas, some forality and roasting meat juices. Develops well in the glass. Palate is nicely smooth, no rough edges, with fine depth of fruit and acidity. Very well made wine. Probably still developing.

Great colour, seemingly more purple than Italian nebbiolo. A lot of red fruit and blueberry, with floral notes. Secondary flavours coming through, such as leather and mushroom. More expansive than old world, but interesting all the same. Palate gradually became more controlled with time and works well with food. Good structure. Maybe a little hot, but a good effort.
