My last bottle. I feared it might be over the hill in 2017. It wasn�t then and nor is it now. Brick Red rather than browning - Fruitcake and graphite nose - tannins entirely resolved - soft fruit , blended vanilla oak - long if not complex finish - utterly delicious .

This has aged fairly well for a somewhat obscure Right Bank chateau. Color is dark purple with no bricking and the nose is rather rich and exotic, with plum, asian spice, floral and mocha notes. Full entry fades a bit on the back end, which finishes with firm dusty tannins that softened considerably by day 2. PnP, ruby colored, minimal sediment, nose of cherry compote, currants, plums, cocoa powder, some menthol and walnuts, and tobacco. Palate is a bit thin and underwhelming, mostly straightforward dark fruits, mostly cherries with some secondary characteristics, with pixelated tannins that are fairly well integrated. More depth, however would be desired. Finish is medium.

Sometimes I get a chance to try 2000 Bordeaux and get overly excited about it. I'll be honest, it's the inexperience in me, the resistance to being just one more "Bordeaux connoisseur" talking about the 600mm average rainfall in September of 1985. I thought that this might be over the hill but I am glad that it is far from it . Slightly reticent nose on opening but hints of sandalwood . Deep red turning to brown a the rim . Tannins softened , silken and taffeta texture and lovely Pomerol fruitcake flavours - good finish . very fine .

I really enjoyed this. Complex nose and finish. Lovely fruit. Seems to be at its peak; it was not at a "drink up" stage and did not fade over the course of the evening. Not a top Pomerol, of course, but very nice right now.

Lovely pronounced nose but after 5-10 minutes in the glass it's less pronounced than upon opening. The tannins seem just about fully integrated, and it's mature but is it interesting? Curious to taste a Bordeaux at this stage but $50 is beyond its reach. This seems like low to mid-range Bordeaux at its peak.

Wow, all red fruit and some floral aspects. Laser focus of the cherries and red raspberries and is in a great spot drink up. Not very Bordeaux IMHO, but very good. Not a great QPR @ $50. Drank good with and with out food.

Rich ruby red with an enticing fruity nose reminiscent of reddish fruits in the order of dark cherries, red raspberries, Chinese yumberries with a touch of gardenia towards the end. A smooth, mellow, but rich medium-bodied wine with integrated fruits and a tannic edge. Still rather youthful at this juncture. An enjoyable and easy-drinking Pomerol at a very decent price point.

Decent, resolved, plummy. Seems lifeless tonight, well made, but having reached its potential, we're all a bit let down. Still has a good color and a fair amount of tannin, but given the state of the fruit, I can't see this improving much. Fine for uncritical accompaniment to a meal.

Pleasurable Pomerol. Interesting nose of cinnamon stick, camphor balls, mint, cedar and tart raspberries. More under-ripe raspberries in the mouth with some herbaceous notes, maybe tarragon. Tannins mostly resolved and hangs together nicely. Drink now. Good match with chicken thighs braised with shallots and black pepper.

Coravined. Light red with browning around the rim. With air the nose opens up to reveal dark berries and plum liqueur, incense, brown spices and earth. A medium bodied palate is rather austere with earthy dark fruits, wood spice and bitter tannins on the finish.

Medium maroon-carmine color. This had a classically Bordelais nose of cocoa, sous bois and wood. With aeration, this expanded to include rocky soil, beef jerky and hickory smoke aromas. The palate was smooth, with ripe black fruit flavors balanced by subtle earthy and woodsy notes. While my prior bottle of this was marred by an unpleasant bitter aftertaste (see my 12/10/2013 note), this was very elegant and gentle on the finish.
