This opens with agrume notes on the nose, coupled with evolving notes of hay, minerality and yellow flowers. Sensations evolved after an hour, with grapefruit notes becoming more precise and fresh garden herbs showing up to the party. The palate is pure, starting with the agrumes and minerality, bursting into a wave of refreshing and vibrant acidity (M+ to H). The finish is superb, long, with juicy citrus notes, With time (around 1 hour), the finish evolves too, minerality and …

Still very bright with freshly cut grass, lemon and grapefruit, coming across slightly more tart than rich, but with overall lots to enjoy. Long, energetic finish. Still very good.

Lemon, grapefruit peel and freshly cut grass with good weight, very good length and balance. Good burst of energy at finish. Still holding very nicely.

BBQ and Wine (Chez Whitehead - Northbrook IL) : Lemon, lemon curd and some freshly cut grass. Nicely rich fruit throughout stands up to very bright acidity. Good now, this will certainly last for years.

Another year in the cellar has been kind to this wine. Cut grass, lemon and grapefruit aromas and flavors. Good balance, still bright acidity, good length. This should continue to drink well for at least several years.

Lemon citrus, grasses, richness without weight or harshness, lovely balance. An extra 2 years in bottle was good for it.

Deeper color. The nose shows aromas of tropical fruits, citrus, grass and hints of oak. This is medium light bodied on the palate with good concentration and decent class. The medium plus length finish features good acidity. Aged for 16 months on the lees.

Delicious. Creamy on the nose and finish, with crisp citrus in the middle. Very nice, but a tough price to want to continue purchasing.

Wotn at tacos maria Very crisp and stone fruit driven. Elegant. It really did evoke Didier!

Clear and lite in the glass. Aromatics of mustard seed, wet stone, apricot, hibiscus, thyme, citrus and stone fruit. Lite body and extremely balanced with thin layers of hibiscus, apricot, grass, citrus, spice, pineapple, white tea, mint and macadamia wrapped around a honeydew core on the palate. So gracefully made with good quality and moderate complexity. Med-long finish. Beautifully moving wine.

Dinner at Pasti's with Seaquam and Steve8. A wonderful domestic SB that could pass as a Sancerre without breaking a sweat. Did not get the grapefruit this time - a good thing in my mind.

Soliste Cellars Dinner (NAHA - Chicago IL) : This is Soliste's hommage to Didier Dagueneau. Slightly brooding, almost reductive to start. Floral note emerged with some air, later joined by Meyer lemon and peach. When decanted for a couple of hours, even more exotic aromas emerged, but never quite tropical. Palate was quite similar, subdued to start while showing good concentration and density. More alluring with more air. Probably better in another year or two.

I'm not usually a SB fan, but this was good. Fairly high-toned on opening, crisp citrus. As it opened over 2 plus hours, and warmed close to room temp, the better it was--secondary fruit notes emerged.

Opened by LostVerse. This wine is a tribute to Didier Dageneau and is named after St. Andelain hill where the Dageneau vineyards are located. We drank this next to the 2009 Silex. This was creamier and slightly less focused than the Silex but still a wonderful Sauvignon Blanc. Well balanced and not overdone at all. Very floral nose. Notes of melon, flint and McIntosh apple with a slightly soapy character. 91 points.

CWM offline at Adelle's. Opened alongside an '09 Didier Silex, and I though both were eerily similar. Grapefruit notes with other citrus and a mineral streak. I thought the Soliste was a touch creamier, but both beautiful. 93+.

Overall, a bit more lean than the Silex. Mineral and grass aromas with a creamier, slightly riper fruit on the palate.

As this opened up for a half hour it really started to sing. Very sexy wine with food. A nice California play at the Loire Valley style.
